so for the longest time i figured the max age was 45 cause well thats what everyone says ive also never seen a 46+ girl get knocked up (without mods) in the game... until now

i did not mod this pregnancy already had 20 kids so i didnt want more was just checking who my wife was attacking and poof this pops and i was like dafuq how old is my wife... 50!!!!!

I thought fertility was the metric and age just influenced fertility.
I've had high fertile females give birth till 50 before.
You can check fertility with charinfo if you are not ironman.

No, it is hard coded in the game files to stop at 45...for females. Males can be of any age. If it goes beyond that it is due to something getting bugged up or a mod. If the OP really had 20 kids...that might bug things up. I don't think I've seen more than maybe 8 kids at a time...ten at most.

Though I wonder what effect a fountain of youth might have on a female. Might that extend it? Doesn't it lower a character's effective age or something like that?

well i started as a muslim with 4 wives constantly popping out kids XD then 4th wife died and i supported and christian woman in a reconquest against my liege so i married her converted to catholic then the aztecs invaded so i married my son to one of his female courtiers gave her some land and converted to aztec then reformed it with poly doctorine and had 4 wives again so yea i had lots o kiddies XD (4 were dead by the time i became aztec)

yea throughout this dudes life he had 8 total wives 4 with muslim then one died married the catholic making it 5 then went aztec adding 3 more XD

The default is 45, however it's my understanding that characters with extremely high fertility numbers can bend the rules.

Does the limit of 45 years apply to unholy impregnation? Is the 50 year old mother a satanist?

As for the total number of children, I remember a character who sired 15 legitamized bastards during a single 5 year minimum duration seduction focus. 20 children total is not that much.
