How to proselytize my neighbours?
Playing as a german ( bavarian ) count in 769, I want, for RP-reasons, to be a christian fanatic and bring the light of Christ to my slavic, pagan neighbours in Bohemia. How to do so? My Vicar can only convert people to christianity in my own realm but not elsewhwere.

tl;dr: can I send ou my Vicar to heathens to spread the word so they will convert sooner or later?

you can send your court chaplain to proselytize in the capital of any unreformed pagan realm. the pagan then gets an event where they get to choose if they want to accept the preacher or throw them out / imprison them (maybe some more options). if they allow them to stay, your court chaplain can potentially convert the ruler and some of his close family to your faith. or they can fail and be thrown out.

I tried so, but the only province where I can send my court chaplain to is my own ( shown green ), the other, pagan neighbouring provinces are greyed out when I want to move him there.

Expect to have a lot of bishops imprisoned if you try to do this. For me it never worked. Fire and steel works every time though.

as i said, you can only send them to the capital of the pagan realms, not to other provinces.

Find slothful arbitrary rulers and they will usually let your guy proselytize

I also believe that your chances to successfully convert a pagan realm goes up after a certain date, I think 930. Of course, with HF that could've changed.

There's also some neat little things, like Imams will find it a bit more difficult to convert pagans that love alcohol (north germanic) for example.
