Concencious is the more stable stewardship focus, giving temperacy/just by default.
I personally like thrift, except never use it on quick or genius people, as dull downgrades it if you are unlucky.
So thrift if you like a little gambling for min/max or concencious if you like ez stewardship (pretty much my goto for female education)
Thrift gives curious and fussy, wich both dont help with the stewardship education.
gives +1 in all stats or "Temperate" that gives +2 to stewardship.
"Thrift" gives the childhood traits of "Fussy" and "Curious". Fussy can lead to "Patient", "Greedy" or "Paranoid" and Curious leads to either "Cynical" or "Shrewd" which gives a +2 to all stats.
Both are good options. Duty is a safer route, but Thrift is potentially higher reward as you could get "Shrewd". "Patient" is good too. However as Random says you might get Dull (it's not mentioned on the wiki page but based on my limited experience I think Random is correct)
I've been splitting kids 50/50 on this, hoping the odd one will get Shrewd.
Here's a link to the wiki for more info on Traits, Focus and Education:

Hope that's helpful

I always thought "Dull" was most likely from the Rowdy childhood trait, which is common with the Struggle focus. But several of you on this thread said you have seen "Dull" popping up with the Thrift focus.
Do you think it is Curious or Fussy childhood trait that leads to "Dull"? Or is just an artifact of the Thrift focus in general?
Would love to hear more- I can't stand when my kids grow up as dullards!
