Roman Culture Resurection ?
After creating roman empire i see a decision that lets me do that, only question.... is it worth doing ? Or better staying as Greek ? xD I have like all mediterranean sea area only with exeption od aquatine and carthinen (between italy and croatia). If not then when its best to use this decision cuz it looks cool ?

Also im doing Orthodox run, and most of my vassals are orthodox greek. I think about doing Hellenic run after this, any suggestions with hellenic run oriented on restoring roman culture ?

from what i can tell in the last half hour of being a roman the main advantage is the roman retinue -Praetorian which is expensive (208) but seems to be much stronger than cataphracts considering you get 550 men (HI/P) compared to 250 for cataphract.

unfortunately some of these numbres might be rong as i just rage quit after my genius emperor was killed under suspicious circumstances....after ia long regency since he was one. anyway. very salty but thats another story.

stay greek if you want but the roman restorer bloodline spreads roman culture quicker apparently, as for greek bassals i got a -6 foreigner penalty which was not that big a deal.

regarding hellenic i havent done it via the decision after you resotre the roman empire instead i did it via delving into the classics and creating a secret society which i recommend so you dont get a massive revolt (start to recruit lowborns/barons as they are easier, then all your main big vassals) and that should get the ball rolling as those people will invite more people etc etc

main benefits to hellenism is that with the bloodline of alexander as well as the bloodline of the roman restorer they both give +5 to hellenistic vassal opinion , combined with augustus theres a permannent +20 bonus to opinion.

- also the reforming of hellnism gives you some fun customisation of your religion -orthodox is boring af in my opinion

not sure if this answers your question but happy to input more if needed :steamhappy:

hope this helps.
Well i acualy already taken that decision, im not mastermind when it comes to retinues, but pickimen sound like a good option aginst mongole hordes. Im acualy a bit curious about proper retinue, cuz so far im mostly like "well lets keep it balanced or a bit more cavalry cuz they look best (lol) so far i didnt had problems with that aproach but i woder what you think about that matter.

As far as it goes i restored roman culture and stayed orthodox... and yeah orthodox is "meh" xD I think i will restore only imperial borders and try something new (propably some pagan to get better as them) and then comback to byz for hellenic run... cuz mostly i wanted to get a bit expierience on what to do and how this campain looks from "mending schizm" perspective and also trying to get better with imperial elective... and i did that... now im mostly rushing to get achivment. For non hellenic run i whold suggest staying greek propably... but it isnt huge deal. So far... it spams Roman culture (in my case mostly in italian region) and thats all... some like two counts changed to Roman and thats it i guess with hellenic its a bit better.

Well thx but i have still a few questions:
1) I was playing Orthodox Makedon, and i didn't get "roman restorer" bloodline. You need to play someone else to get it ? (I have Alexander but so far getting it looks like its luck based xD Don't know about roman restorer).
2) What are best retinues for Roman ? I mean going mostly in Cavalery ? Pickimen ? Heavy Infintry ?
3) Can you have concubines with Reformed Hellenic ? (Cuz with imperial elective its sounds a bit... op xD)
4) If i recall going for reformed hellenic requaiers takeing rome, two cities in greece, alexandria, and something in sicily ? If i take Rome as Hellenic very early (i did it as orthodox, but nothing realy happend xD) will it trigger crusades on me right away ?

Thx, also for sugestion about secret societym it will propably realy help... thx once again xD

Other main benefit is that both Greek and Latin culture provinces will shift faster to Roman which will give you a more homogneous realm
