Shattered World Pope Never Calls Crusade

My game has been going on for 23 years, and there has never been one crusade. Is there a reason for this?

What year? I just did a 1337 start and there was one within about 5-10 years of the start.

I started in 1066.

Maybe it is because the islamic states never threaten the byzantine empire, because there is no byzantine empire

Doesn‘t a crusade need a kingdom to target? 23 years after game‘s start shattered worlds don‘t usually have any kingdoms yet in my games.

Crusades require a non-Catholic Kingdom in a traditional Catholic realm in order for the Crusades to even open, much less be called.

i'm currently in a random world campaign for the acheivement to play 200 years in a world with all random.
i got a popup (i think in 1150 or so?) that told me that all great holy wars and holy orders are now unlocked.

guess that's some sort of fall back trigger for the randomized maps where the usual triggers for holy orders and great holy wars can't fire.

maybe you'll also have to wait for that event.

But in the regular game, the kingdom of jerusalem deosn't exist, and the muslims can't form it.

Jerusalem not held by Christians

Byzantium Falling:
Year is at least 900 AND
Byzantine Emperor not Christian OR
Thrace or Ancyra not held by Christians OR
Neither Athens nor Corinth held by Christians
Fall of Rome:
Year is at least 900 AND
Rome held by non-Christian or by heretic
France Threatened:
Year is at least 900 AND
Provence, Toulouse, or Paris held by non-Christian
Germany not controlled:
Year is at least 900 AND
Cologne (Köln) or Braunschweig Christian but held by non-Christian

MTTH: 3 months.
