Forming Slavic Union

So im trying to form the slavic union... Can i make an empire like Wendish or Crapathia, in order to keep my kingdoms together, then when I have all the land i need form the slavic union? Or does making the empire get rid of the Slavic Union choice?

the wiki says that forming the slavic union is a decision and it will destroy your other held empire titles.

Perfect... thanks for the answer. I'm right at my vassal limit and it's getting dicey having a bunch of people hating me for having 5 kingdoms

Well I did the same achievement. My trick was to try rush forming an emperor title (in my case it was emperor of Rus). It allowed me to rapidly shrink the number of direct vassal I actually had to just a few de-jure vassal + 3 to 4 vassalized kings.

In most case all you need is 2 kingdoms and 75% or was it 80%? of the empire realm and you can create the emperor title.

Really? The event button thingy says completely control all the kingdom's... I know most empires are 80% but I'm 90% sure you need every kingdom... I know because I don't have the check Mark for one of the kingdom's that I'm missing just one county from

Says completely control Poland, bohemia, ruthenia, velky something, rus, and... one other I can't remember. Then it has check Mark's or x's depending on if I completely control them.

I did it while being an emperor and yes you need to completely control the entire de-jure realm for each but you can form the emperor long before you have full control over those kingdom realms.

Having an emperor rank allow me to take more land because you can put unruly duchy vassal under your kings vassal and let them deal with them.

Nevermind going from ~30 subject something to 7 or 8 subject is much easier to handle. It does destroy your main title but if you already have emperor title. All the slavic union decision does is change your main title name mostly.

If you want to click on forming slavic union before forming an empire more power to you. But the headache and civil wars you would have to wrestle with is not worth the trouble to be honest.
