Does Anyone Know How to Fix CK2 Crashing at Loading Graphics
When I finished downloading the Holy Fury dlc, I opened up the game. However when I was in the loading screen, it crashed once it came to loading graphics. I know it is not anything to do with the files, restarting steam, reinstalling CK2, Restarting my PC, updating my drivers, deleting flags in documents, running either dxsetup or vcredist, or even running it with out my anti-virus on. So now I have no idea what to do. every guide or form post of people having the same problem, ends with CK2 crashing in the same place. Does anyone now how to fix this?

Sounds like you have tried most things I would recommend, but if you run CK2 on Windows 10, the below tips might help. I had the same issue with crashing at the "Loading Graphics..." yesterday, but I am back in business now. Hope this helps!

1. Turn off anti-virus completely.
2. Verify integrity of CK2 game within Steam app.
3. Set override_resolution_safety = yes in settings.txt in the CK2 folder under My Documents/Paradox.
4. Disable fullscreen optimizations.

I tried all the above a couple of times. Didn't work. Uninstalled. Did a fresh install & unticked all my mods. It worked.

Ticked whatever mods that were updated, Loaded & it worked.

If the steps in the above post don't work, try a fresh install, but make sure the game folder & the folder in the "My Documents" location is also deleted, then re-install.

I think the issue actually happened with the update shortly before the Holy Fury DLC. There was an update scheduled before I bought the DLC and the crashes at Graphics were occurring after that had downloaded.

For anyone with a Mac: my problem is that I had iCloud Drive activated - for some reason, CK2 stores many of its graphics files in the Documents/Paradox folder which means that macOS uploaded those to iCloud and then removed them from the hard drive if it needed space, since it was determining I hadn't opened any of them.

If you go into that folder in the Finder, you can re-download them by clicking the cloud button.

Hey, I'm having the same issue (on a Mac as well!) and I've tried literally all of these things except for disabling fullscreen optimizations, which I'm not sure how to do. Nothing has worked so far, including unistalling and reinstalling, and restarting Steam, etc. I would REALLY like to play, especially because I'm trying to decide if I want to buy Crusader Kings III, so if anyone has any further ideas for me to try I'd love to hear them.
