Glory Hounds
Glory Hounds are the most annoying characters in the game, I had the biggest chance to take out one of my really srong neighbors (Playing as Rus) and they were like "Oh they have one less province than us so they're weaker" even though they had 3x my troops.

Buy a favor? Change one of those out for a yes-man? There are solutions.

the glory hounds are arbitrary and frustrating get them off the council immediately they're in the way

Indeed never let the council stop your wars. Replace who you can afford and bribe the rest.

Honestly I always try to depower the council. My vassals are almost always ungrateful drunkards; why should I trust them with government?

i don't know if this is the way to do it, but I put all my powerful vassals on the council becasue they are ♥♥♥♥♥ and get mad (-40 opinion). Is there a way to get pass this?

-have enough positive modifiers so that you can balance out the -40
-have a woman (without womans rights enabled), child or infirm on the powerfull vassal slot
-there is a threshold of minimum power compared to you a vassal needs before he is counted as "powerfull vassal"

But no basically when you have conclave you often need to keep some of them on your council, the modifier wont go away not even if the council is fully depowered.

Get favours. By asking nicely. Bribery if necessary. If it's not a powerful vassal - do a Trump. If it is - poison is always the answer.

There you go, happy escalating.
