Creating a custom kingdom
Hi,

I remember being able to create a custom kingdom (in an earlier save years ago) named after the duchy that was my primary duchy. I have conqured enough lands to create a de jure duchy but after subjegating a different tribal ruler and gaining both his duchies I don't see the option to create a custom kingdom even though I have 3 duchies.

Now my prior character died during the war so the child (not of age just yet) "won" the war. Is the problem that I haven't reformed to feudal yet, that the current character is still a child, that I haven't formed a 4th duchy (which I hold the lands for-currently with vassals) or something else?

Thanks. Though I thought the option should appear even if you don't have the wealth or prestige yet-I know create de jure duchy option appears even if you don't have the gold to make it just yet.

the decision is in the intrigue tab though, not among these buttons.

Are you sure that you have the Charlemagne DLC active? Did you check the game rules to see if you set custom realms on/off?

Charlemagne is active and custom realms is on. I'll see if the 34 counties thing is the issue though that may take longer to change..

Though I wonder if it isn't a set number of counties but simply the number for whatever the de jure kingdom is where your primary county and duchy are located.

it's either 35 holdings OR 3 duchies. you need 1000 prestige (won't be drained) and 300 wealth (will be drained) and you need to be independent.

Thanks. I found it. Seems I should have 1000 prestige, 300 gold, 3 duchies OR 35 counties (so you were right from before) plus be an adult as a character.

Well, I've got the land..

Thank you again.

A bit of advice for custom kingdoms: create one while you cover 100% of territory of de jure kingdom. Then you will get your custom kingdom plus you can create de jure kingdom as titular. 2 kingdoms, yey ^^

Cool. Though won't the game simply limit you to the de jure kingdom?

that's not true at all. to create a titular kingdom, you need to control the de jure capital. in order to de jure incorporate land into your custom kingdom, you need to hold the duchy and the actual de jure kingdom can't exist.
