Insane price for ck2
Right now the game with all dlc costs 270$, that is 5x cost of most new AA games. And in few years when new dlc come, the game will be priced 600$? Just do something with this insane prices.

Don't buy all the dlc, it's that simple.
Wait for a sale and buy the ones you want.

Also the game has a lot of replay value, no game is going to be the same as another, you can easily get over 1000 hours in, so even if you pay for all the dlc at full price that's a better price to gametime value than most games.

The game is a lot of fun and you can replay it alot, but yes it's over priced.
Only buy few main Dlc's and make sure to buy it during a 50% sale or more.

I got the game on Humble Bundle with all the dlcs that were out about year ago for 12 Euro. Its on Humble Bundle few times a year

Yeah, if you're spending that much on any game you're not searching for the sales; you just like to whine.

Pretty sure you can pick up ck2 for like $2 on G 2a not sure on the dlc but you could always just find someone who has the dlc to host for you until the spring sale drops

Insane grammar for OP
Right now the OP with all iq = 27, that is 5x of most old A12yr old Steam forum users. And in few years when new OP come, the IQ will be = 60? Just do something with this insane in the membrane (insane in the brain).
This is an old debate.
YES CK2 is expansive when not on sales, but you don't need the whole thing to play and you still can buy the expansions one by one, and enjoy it slowly as CK2 is a masterpiece.

You really don't need all the dlcs. Base game is huge and is pretty darn good deal still after all these many many years.

It goes on sale all the time, and you don't need the DLC, but if you like it you will really really really want it all :P Don't listen to the cheapos I know guys who only buy the 5 bucks or less games who started off with just base of this, who after playing with people with all the DLC like me now own it all. Sure they wait for sales for the old stuff, but now they are hooked and pay full price for DLCs to get it week one of launch :P

Serriosly thouhg it goes on sale all the time, every major steam sale its on sale, as well as any time they make a new DLC every thing but like the two newest DLC goes on a sale. And Humble Bundle among others has huge charity sales for it. I started off with the base set years ago, up to Old Gods DLC I think it was almost all of it back then for like 15 bucks off humble bundle, seen them do bundles like that here and there as well 15-20 bucks for normal priced like 90+ bucks of content for this franchise.

Only some of the DLC are actual expansions. Rest is just cosmetic sh!t more or less.

Really has it been that much? I buy them all at full price, DAY 1 even if I might have to get off another game I'm into, I come back and play the HECK out of ck2.

I don't think its for you to be honest, just grab the base game for god sakes it got all us hooked, I literally went back to CK1 just to see what the hell I was experiencing, eventually the game was released and I bought it - but if you don't know why its worth that much, its not probably worth that much.

that's not that bad, go look at the sims3 prices when it isn't on sale. ck2 content is much more worthwile
quarre Feb 13, 2018 @ 2:22am
True, CKII is expensive only for new players, who wants to purchase all and everything for $1 or even less because base game is 6 years old (btw, people, don't forget to send birthday picks to PDX on tomorrow, our fav Medieval Sims 2 was released on 14/02/2012).

If you think about it straight, whole game costs less than WoW with subscribe for one year, and it's nearly always on sale.
