Has anyone ever conquered the whole map on.....
Very hard without cheating? By cheating I mean "scum saves" as I know yer out there and I'd find it hard to believe you didn't scum save and reload at least once in a game; any game ;)

I didn't ask for your "speculation" seeing as you haven't done it; how do you know it's been done without cheating? You don't you just wanted to talk smack like most. :)

It's not all that difficult, once you establish yourself you just roll over everything.

There's also a post out there where someone did a world conquest in under 10 years.

I've conquered half the world with the byzantines (roman empire) but gave up, it was getting too grindy to declare 5 wars at the same time, move all my armies, gather, siege, assault, lower armies, repeat forever.

Though nowadays things should be different with the defensive pacts, new CBs, etc..

Things I learned from reading that thread and AAR:
1. Plunder timer restarts with every new ruler.
2. Farming prestige with failed imprisonments.
3. I've really underestimated the utility of the subjugation CB when considering speed.

Everything else I knew about, and even use some of it when I played as nomads. Though it took me ~200 years because I started as a 2-county khagan and didn't do subjugations or abdications.

Its easy if you play as Nomad, but i'd be more impressive if he made it as feudal/republic.

Same guy did it in just under 40 years by starting as karloman.

It's pretty do-able.

I've almost done in a single life-time (In normal I've done it a few times in a single life-time). Though his heir finished the job.

The difficulty largely depends on who you are and what other restrictions you've set for yourself (like trying to do it in a single life-time, or not allowing religion swapping, etc).

The hardest part for me personally though is the boredom. once you've eaten up Christendom with the Pope as your ♥♥♥♥♥, and then holy warred all the smaller easy to eat natons, it just becomes a slog breaking up some of the larger kingdoms.

Not hard, just stuck waiting on truces or assassinations to fire or waiting to get enough prestige to truce break again.

it's much more engaging, IMO, to force your liege to conquer the whole world, while you manipulate and rule from behind the scenes.

Yeah, basically the reason I haven't gone for world domination is just because it seems so boring. After you establish yourself, it just becomes a slog to keep expanding. Though if you set it up right, you don't even need to expand yourself. One game I was playing as a Norse OPM, and my goal was to form Scandinavia, and then focus on turning Europe Germanic without conquering it. My vassals took Britannia, Germania, Francia, and I ended up inheriting Bavaria after the daughter I put on the throne died in the black plague. So nearly all of western Europe, along with some other regions fell into my control without me so much as lifting a finger. Hell, I was trying to get rid of Britannia because the place was a cesspool of rebellions. I put my brother on the throne, and they start a rebellion to put me back on the throne, which I fought against and defeated, but then the plague took him anyways. And I don't know about you, but I find fighting to not take land is a hell of a lot more interesting than taking everything.

Subjected the Byzantine Empire, then spent 30 min chooseing to pillage the holding.
