Didnt see much of the nomadic instability over the last 3 generations of this line. Anything i can do to help the instability along if it fails to materialize by itself? A war with the abassids would be sweet though.

In that list, search for the Jomsvikings to see the conditions for the holy order to get formed.
I got tired of those huge ass blobs and wanted a more fluid world progression so I downloaded some mods.
You can try these out:
-Realm Break & Independance Factions Only. (An heirless ruler dying will destroy the main title and make most direct vassals independant. Also as title says, it makes it so only independance factions can form.)
-Exclave Independence. (Defacto non de jure land will become independant on ruler death, relatively easy to avoid but can help break up stuff.)
-Various faction mods. (Can make blobing harder.)
-Fitna Fracture (wouldn't recommend, this mod works TOO well, like I mean all of France and Germany and other stuff will eventually be split up into a never ending border gore fest of thousands of dukes and counts.)
I wanted a medium that allowed big and small realms, and not just massive blobs everywhere, and Realm Break & Independance and Exclave Independence work pretty decently together.
You should give them a shot.
I was having this exact problem when Khazaria holding at least 1/3 of the world map and using Exclave Independance fixed it. I installed, manually killed a couple of rulers and BOOM world fixed. Uncheck mod and resume play. THANK YOU. This is the only fix I found that did what I needed.
I deal with Indian empire that way.
