Khazaria blob
So, played 100 years as sjaelland form charlemagne and went along to unify scandinavia, reform the faith and look to feudalise sometime soon. Meanwhile Khazaria just blobs out of all control, consumes the whole steppe, the Byzantine empire and pretty much all of russia hungary and Poland. Seems no sings or dents of fracturing form one ruler to the next and i know their units eat the tribal levies.

Happy to hear ideas or suggestions how to deal with this emga blob. Did i mention they are sunni and very buddy with the abassids (the other emga blob) as well? Is there any instability built into their mechanics to help in splintering them?

Find some allies, they should eventually implode or be weakened in a war with the abbasids. Giving you a good opportunity to attack.

They are nomads thus unstable. Should you reform and feudalize they won't be able to stop you. More so with your holy order.

Already reformed but worried about the levy drop from feudlaizaiton in this position. Unless im mistaken as a norse i dont have a holy order? Or do they come in at a later date?

Didnt see much of the nomadic instability over the last 3 generations of this line. Anything i can do to help the instability along if it fails to materialize by itself? A war with the abassids would be sweet though.

https://ck2.paradoxwikis.com/Holy_orders#List_of_holy_orders

In that list, search for the Jomsvikings to see the conditions for the holy order to get formed.

Having a pretty similar situation in a game of mine hahaha. Except instead of Khazaria it's Carpathia(!!!) and instead of the Byzantines it's the Italy and France with a little bit of Spain for good luck
I don't think anything in vanilla really stops those massive blobs anymore or just often enough.
I got tired of those huge ass blobs and wanted a more fluid world progression so I downloaded some mods.
You can try these out:

-Realm Break & Independance Factions Only. (An heirless ruler dying will destroy the main title and make most direct vassals independant. Also as title says, it makes it so only independance factions can form.)

-Exclave Independence. (Defacto non de jure land will become independant on ruler death, relatively easy to avoid but can help break up stuff.)

-Various faction mods. (Can make blobing harder.)

-Fitna Fracture (wouldn't recommend, this mod works TOO well, like I mean all of France and Germany and other stuff will eventually be split up into a never ending border gore fest of thousands of dukes and counts.)

I wanted a medium that allowed big and small realms, and not just massive blobs everywhere, and Realm Break & Independance and Exclave Independence work pretty decently together.
You should give them a shot.

I was having this exact problem when Khazaria holding at least 1/3 of the world map and using Exclave Independance fixed it. I installed, manually killed a couple of rulers and BOOM world fixed. Uncheck mod and resume play. THANK YOU. This is the only fix I found that did what I needed.

there is a way, send china to deal with it by spend 5000 grace to shatter the empire and kings in those realm. while china attack you also attack. china will only attack one that has at least 100 holding.

I deal with Indian empire that way.

Mega-blobs have gotten far too stable the last few patch/update cycles. Factions aren't generally a threat (especially to a player) and the tools to avoid them have gotten better as has the ai handling. Unless they get a real blockhead with bad traits or fall apart due to stupidly creating multiple top-tier gavelkind titles they just hang around and blob further...
