Starter pack worth it?
used to play tons with some friends but only one of them had all the DLC, and we don't play much with him anymore. Always got put off because of the prices on the DLC. But since theres a sale anything else I should get with the starter edition? prefer not to go over $35 atm

same kind of question for me but more limited to just the starter pack or is there some other things I should get for the best bang for my cheap buck? :P

Since base game is free, I was thinking about dropping some cake on the starter pack as well. I don't see the Dilly Dilly DLC though and I've heard it's a must.

The Dynasty starter pack is very worth it. You should get it.

Basically you will need Old Gods, Swords of Islam, Horse Lords, Sons of Abrham and Merchant Republic DLCs for the game to function properly (there might be more, these DLCs are simply there to stop the game from ending if you accidentally convered to some weird religion or ruling class), then you will want to buy Charlemagne, Way of Life and Rome DLCs to make the game more fun. Also avoid most of the newer DLCs they are nothing but overpriced trash, I mean with Conclave you basically buy DLC that forces you to put a dumbass on your councel or risk civil war.

I could not disagree more. If you're just starting out, you do not need any DLC. If you really REALLY want a DLC, the only DLCs you should get are Reaper's Due, Old Gods, and Way of Life. Then you can choose whatever other DLCs you want. The Dynasty starter pack covers most of this and more. Buy the starter pack.

Reaper's Due is a waste of money, the DLCs I recommended are the DLCs you need, I have had the unfortunate experience of having an Islamic heir and not noticing it till I got the game over screen because I didn't have Swords of Islam
