The Unending Consumption

So, long story short, I picked up Reaper's Due last sale, and I've been enjoying it. Then, this latest playthrough, my character is about to go on his 8th bout of treatment for his consumption- not counting the symptom treatments. He has literally had the consumption trait for over a decade. Have I found a bug, or am I woefully misinformed about consumption?

As a sidenote... a 26 learning, erudite, scholarly theologian court physician does amazing work. It's literally only been +2 hp, +2 all stats treatments. Good thing, too, because my character's 61, and even his +2.75 health won't stave off the disease forever.

You just got unlucky on how long you've got the disease, it'll go away eventually (or your son won't have to worry about it soon enough). Do you have the Craven trait? I believe if you have it, your court physician cannot do experimental or the tier bellow that on you.

Yeah, my character's had craven for a while. Unfortunate, really, because he got it before he could get t4 martial education, and was also old enough to need me to switch over to hunting to get the health bonus.

However, the physician has been able to do the standard treatment option. He's not a mystic, so I'm not sure if that's the one you were referring to as the tier below.
