Minor titles overhaul

With the addition of wonders and their upgrades i feel like there is no reason to choose things like master of the tides, keeper of knowledge, over other upgrades.

In my opinion minor titles should ger a reworks, because the +5 opinion itself for most of the minor titles are a joke. These titles should be like the court tutor title,a title you should think carefully before handing because you can screw your court really bad.

For example if you give the master of the tides title to a martial vassal/courtier it could be a deterrence for raiders the bigger his martial is. Or you could give the title to a stewardship character and it could lead to huge profit or a great economical disaster, he/she could sell your ships and really hurt your economy because he/she has the greedy trait.

What are your opinions?

Well the upside of those minor titles from the great works seems to be that you can give them on top of another minor title (at least for master of the tides I was able to do so), no idea if you can stack several great works minor titles on the same character (have only one GW-Title to give atm).

But I agree that they are a less then optimum choice on most great works.

I wouldn't want those titles to be something you have to consider too strongly, the minor titles are mostly ment to be titles of honor with no real function. You really think the Duke you name your master of horse spents his time in your stables?
So I wouldn't really want to have the fortune of your realm tied to them.

What I actually use minor titles for a lot is prepping my heir, he usually gets any minor title I can put on him, for the prestige gains.

Yeah, I don't bother with the minor titles for the +5 opinion either, I do like galadon and give them to characters needing a prestige boost, such as my heir.

What could be nice would be a minor bonus the title gave the holder, like for example a very small bonus for cavalery from master of the horse, a tiny bit of prosperity chance or disease resitance for the county the high almoner is in etc...
But really nothing big, thats what the major councillors are for.

I'm fine with them being similar to other honorary titles, after all not all of the other upgrades are that amazing either, but I'd like to see them buffed a bit. Either the prestige they give, the opinion bonus or both, depending on the title.

I mean, the +5 is ok but there are several upgrades that already give that +5, like the dinasty mural, and that is for every dinasty character not just for 1 character. Also minor titles cost you money so i really think when you have to choose between getting a +10% levie (standard upgrade) vs a +5 opinion i 1 vassal/courtier is an easy choice.

There are some minor titles that are really important, like comanders, regents, master engineers and court tutors, but besides those i dont really see why should i grant a minor title to a non-heir courtier/vassal. Because in the end is just a waste of money, even more if you have to pay like 800 ducats to acces a minor title.

And I just found out that you really CAN stack those great work minor titles on the same character. So atm I can get a normal minor title +5 (or +10 for seneschall), and stack the two GW-titles (got the master of tides from harbor and the custodian from palace) on top of that for +20 overall, wich can make quite a difference for example to break an important noble out of a faction.

So basically: not worth it for just one, but can be a strategical choice for having several of them.
Its not the ability to have a lot of +5 boni for several char, but the ability to stack them on a crucial character that can make it worthwhile.
