[Solved] Cheat Console impossible to open on Lenovo laptop

Please help. I have a Lenovo U41 model laptop and I'm in England, and I physically cannot open the cheat console because I don't have a "section" symbol on the keyboard OR a numpad. I have tried every suggested key and key combination. I have tried `, ~, ALT with dozens of combinations of numbers, FN with numbers, pretty much every key on this darned keyboard. This laptop doesn't have a numpad, not even a combined ALT/FN/Shift numpad. It has NO numpad. I cannot input character codes, full stop. I've tried the on-screen keyboard but as it is another "window", it won't interact with the CKII window.

The cheat console is therefore not physically possible for me to open. Is there a game file I can edit to set the cheat console to open with another shortcut, and please could you run me through how? Or is there any mod I can download which sets the console to a different key? Am I using the on-screen keyboard wrong? I'm completely desperate at this point, and want to know if there's a way I can fix this for free before I order a whole darned new keyboard.

Remap the key in the game (I dont know how but someone might) or re-program the lenovo keyboard to have a tilde and back carat character. I dont know how to do that either, but I'm sure you can find a program on lenovos site to do such things. Their laptops are very customizable.

If you play in ironman mode, you then can't open the console.

Be sure it's not the case, then try again.
Either use a mod or disable it in the game rule page when you start a new game.

Remember as well that the key combination for ` requires another key to be typed afterwards.

I'm asking how I can do either of those things, because I don't know. The keyboard settings in my laptop haven't let me.

pressing ` only places a "marker" that that sign is supposed to show on top of the next letter you type (like à, or è ) so you need to press space to actually get a ` without a letter under it

Any key on the keyboard really. Space-bar works as well.
And yes, that opens the console, if your started campaign game is not in ironman mode.

There are only the options provided in the link i posted earlier.
If none of these work for you, while they should and you don't make a mistake, then it's an issue with your specific keyboard settings or the layout. Check the Lenovo support pages then.

Space-bar makes sure that the "letter space" under the ` remains empty, and doesn't accidentally give you à, è, ò, ù... so space bar is a safety thing, for me at least :)
