Great conquests require that your enemy is at least 95% as powerful as you, costs 3k prestige and 1.5k piety and require both you and your target to have at least 200 holdings.
Invasion requirements depend on what type you're using.
Sanctioned invasions require the approval of your religious head.
Tribal invasions require 500 prestige that you be pagan, tribal, have elective gavelkind and have an invasion culture (altaic, magyar or nahau). This is also available if you are a Child of Destiny, have the Ashoka or Alexander bloodline (can only be used once per character) and can be used by special hordes.
Muslim Invasions require 1000 piety and that the target be a different religion.
Nomad Invasions require you to have at least 30k population and 75% max population and costs 100 prestige.
Invasions are better IMO since you can get more land and can have greater control over who owns it after, neither are particularly easy to gain as CB's.
