Give us a proper 75% discount and I'll get it.
I'm not paying 132 euros for the Imperial Collection of a 7 year old game, forget it Paradox. The entry fee for newcomers to your older games is just too much!

It's the best game ever and worth it, your choice and your loss...

feeling a little entitled?

A 7 year old game that has received continuous updates and new content during the course of those 7 years.

Since money is the only language Paradox understands, many times it's more profitable to sell something at a cheaper price than keep the price higher. Yes those who buy your product will pay more per person but the overall profit you'll get is lower than what you would get if you sold it at a more reasonable price and more people decided to buy it. Think about it Paradox.

Paradox understands this. They also understand they can sell the game at it's full price to many players. This is why they have the frequent ~50% sales but keep the base prices what they are.

They will rarely offer a more extreme sale. I actually got the base game when it was free. They had most of the DLC at 75% off for the last CK2 anniversary not long ago and I expect it will happen again on a future anniversary if you are patient. Also keep an eye on Humble Bundle and the Paradox Store as they offer different and sometimes better discounts than Steam.

The Game costs 10 bucks atm...

How many 7 year old games get free content expansions like CK2?
Well the Imperial Collection contains everything; dynasty shields, cosmetics, new portraits, music, ebooks, and expansions, which honestly, most of this stuff is useless.

Go for the Royal Collection instead, it includes the base game and only all of the expansions instead of the extra baggage, and is cheap in comparison.

And honestly CK2 is the only Paradox game I've played that didn't feel quite empty w/o expansions anyways. If only I:R could turn out like this game in the future.

Just play and add expansions as you go on, go for cosmetics if you care enough.

And 'entry fee is too much'
Mank the 'entry fee' here is technically 10 dollars lmao.
If we go by the hour = dollar rule, this game would cost $800+ for me. (Luckily games aren't sold like that though, because it'd be ridiculous, point is though that it's worth every penny I've paid.)

If you need advice for which expansions to get, we're all here.

They need to bundle all the cosmetic stuff and give it a big discount. I think the general expansions are a bit overpriced but generally not that bad for what you get, those cosmetic ones really annoy me though. What really annoys me, is when they release an expansion then cosmetic items for that expansion as a separate thing, why didn't they put the cosmetic stuff in the expansion?! In fact, if you are going to charge for them, it seems to make more sense to just increase the price of the expansion a bit and include them.

Just the very principle of having to buy all the cosmetic stuff separate makes me not want to ever buy them. It is also annoying that there is so many of them and they all seem overpriced. I am willing to pay for them, but they really need to bundle them all and put in a big discount. Paying like $100 for units and pictures of people is kind of crazy.

As Pepper Jack said, get the base game for just 10 dollars, it's a no-brainer and a great game even without the DLC.

If you really enjoy it (the learning curve is step), go for the Royal Edition (which include all the content DLC) rather than the Imperial Edition (this one includes everything up to cosmetics and music, you don't really need all that stuff to have a complete game gameplay-wise).

Well 7 years and they're still supporting it with free patches. Also they released their best ever expansion for this game, Holy Fury (i think its the best paradox dlc ever tbh) a few months ago, it also has a new team behind it so it still has plenty of content coming on its way. I think it's the only Paradox game besides Victoria 2 that it's worth spending all that money on, so if you do have the spare money I'd recommend you to go for it.

Well thank goodness you showed up to teach them how to run their business! I am sure that they will retire the drunk monkey with a dartboard they previously used to set prices and will get right on doing some market research now that you have told them that market research is a thing companies can do.

If you want to send them a message you need to do the following: Don't buy the damn game. Boycotts only work if you have the willpower to miss out on the stuff you want, which is why it will never work.

The price of the 7-year-old game, which has been continuously updated, is 39,99 Euro, currently on sale for 9,99 Euro. Paying more? You are getting DLCs which are _not_ 7 years old and add substantial content to the game.

This is very useful information and you are very gracious to provide it. I am sure that a 20 year old video game publisher with over 400 employees, a listing on Nasdaq First North, and revenue over over 1 billion SEK per year (with EBIT of almost 500M SEK and a net income of over 350M SEK) is completely unaware of this simple fact of basic economics.

As soon as someone at Paradox sees your insightful post they will pass it up the chain until it reaches their CFO. I just hope the poor man doesn't die of a heart attack when he suddenly realizes that the markets work this way. :(

Goodness, some people...
