My Aunt is a Polar Bear but i don't have animal kingdoms on?

I was looking at my family tree and i came across something really strange. One of my Aunts has turned into a Polar Bear. I was so confused and amused but when i looked up if something like this happened before there was nothing about it so i believe i walked into a new bug.

I think you need the Jade Dragon DLC and Supernatural Events enabled to get this event.

I've seen this once in all my time playing CKII.
somehow the Karling's bred bears into their dynasty and half of them were just inbred bears.
rare event indeed.

I've been "lucky" enough to get it in almost all my play-throughs lately. Though I usually choose the "This is unbearable!" option, which is basically an undo of the whole thing.

The next time I it happens I might keep it and go bear myself, though, because I recently discovered that if you are graphically a bear (or dragon, but that's not relevant in a normal world) you can eat your prisoners without getting the Lunatic trait or crazy cannibal modifier. :)

I do dislike being a non-raiding culture though... :(

I don't own Jade Dragon and I got the event, so it is something else required :p

You don't need the Jade Dragon dlc itself, the event was just introduced with the patch that accompanied Jade Dragon.

Can you gain the traits of your meal like can happen sometimes when you have the cannibal trait?
