Change Byzantine Succession Law
I was wondering if there are any ways to change the succession law. I would like to get it primogeniture.

If you have access to the Paradox forums, there was a lengthy discussion a few days on this exact topic. Here's a link:

Here the excerpt of the steps involved:

1. Have an Empire title with Primo
2. Acquire the Byzantine Empire title (which has Imperial Elective), and keep it as secondary title.
3. Destroy the Byzantine Empire title.
4. Recreate the Byzantine Empire, so it inherits succession laws (Primo) of your primary Empire.
5. Make the Byzantine Empire your primary title.
6. Destroy your original Empire title.

Note that this has to be done through creating the title the regular way, and not through the Intrigue menu decision. Using the decision will set it to Byzantine elective again.

Creating the title the regular way is restricted to Orthodox Christians and Hellenics.

can you form Rome if you do this

Yes, that is not a problem. :) And as a bonus the Roman Empire copies the laws from the Byzantine Empire title when you create Rome, so you will keep your succession form.

One thing that should be noted is that while Byzantium and Rome normally have a special form of government called "Imperial," taking them off the Byzantine elective system will give them a regular feudal government.

Isn't it that you can't recreate BE if it gets destroyed?

Isnt it just standard law changing mechanics? Why would you have to go through all those work arounds? did they change it?

It is saying that as the Byzantine Emperor I cannot create Empires.

Yes, ERE has its own unique succession law that can not changed without exploits. Basically its a law that reflects the somewhat chaotic successions they had.

No, that's not the way it is. Please see above in the thread for instructions and limitations. :)

It was changed with the Holy Fury patch on November 13, 2018 IIRC.
