Lech,Czech, and Rus help
Hi I am looking to get this achievement along with becoming Russian culture and forming the slavic union under reformed slavic or maybe even christianity. I would like my end goal to be a homogenous russian culture and religion reformed slavic. Any suggestions on helping me get there by starting as kiev in 769, or suggestions for other starts? Thanks.

Starting as Ilmen or whatever that is in the Novgorod area is easier. Kiev is too close to the nomad hordes and you could get destroyed early on.

Yeah I'm trying to do the same OP. Your best bet would be starting as Bohemia.

I've been doing a current campaign as the Kiev's and it is indeed hard but it is possible.

In my current campaign, I managed to turn one of Dyre the Stranger's sons Russian by inviting a guy to my court and have him educate my sons.

Made that son my heir, luckily another one died early on and then I just had to manage Elective Gavelkind between my heir and one other son. Obviously I had formed the kingdom at that point, so it wasn't even hard.

As the son, I managed to reform the Slavic religion, or actually I remained Norse until I had the 3 holy sites and then switched by taking a slavic concubine. Took Ancestor Veneration, became Feudal (a bit of a mistake so early I suppose) and switched to Eldership succession.

Currently I've been taking it kinda slow, a few generations later and I've barely formed the Empire of Rus, still don't hold all of Chernigov or Vladimir, but I'm close.

I used my daughters as best I could to try and keep a non-aggression pact with Khazaria as best I could, and I never did actually have to fight them in a war. I got the one duchy they held just east of Kiev during a revolt.

The nomadic cultures have broken up a bit, which has made them extremely annoying as they keep raiding my borders constantly with large armies. I usually don't bother stopping them as it takes extremely long to muster your troops and move them all to the right place.

Just reform your religion and Ilmenian, Severian and Volhynian cultures will merge into Russian over time. That's the easiest way.
