AI seduction
So, I finally get bored wasting 5 years of life to seduce my brides and then checking save game to be sure not being cu♥♥ed. And what do you think? First time I turned AI seduction off, my wife somehow got a lover, random courtier commander... What the f...? How is that possible? Is that good tumble event? Aren't that only for ruler and his female courtiers? Or there any other events that make that possible?

UPD:
Also I checked save file and there still huge amount of cu♥♥ed husbands..

You cannot actively seduce (WoL) your wifes, i f that's what you mean with "brides".

Concerning that courtier commander, there are events for court affairs not involving the liege, also one or two firing when you dont have WoL. Are one of the two either deceitful, arbitrary or lustful ? Then that's likely a basic rare old event (id =456). The game rule is only affecting the focus, not events without the focus.

I seduce them while betrothal. Day after they turning 16. Most of the time that helped to prevent being cu♥♥ed.
They both trusting and wife happens to be arbitrary. Thanks to clarify event thing, really thanks!
I have WoL. 456 event comes with event 64010, right?

A couple of months ago there was an "interesting court life" dynamic introduced into the game which unfortunately was not too well thought through - characters who don't have any have a huge chance of getting random lovers from the court. You even see things like same-sex lovers who are not homosexual.

That the mechanic needs some work is an understatement! Unfortunately there is no way to turn this off atm short of modding it.

I had a pair like that in my court. Had to scratch my head a bit since neither one was homosexual but I thought it was cute :steamhappy: I ended up landing both (one of my vassals died without heirs making my demense too big, and both had pretty decent stats for governing) but then one of them died :steamsad:

What's the big deal, though? The amount is a bit exaggerated in CK2, I read somewhere that around every tenth generation everywhere has not the father who is in church books.

..

Sure about the "a couple of months ago" ?
I am pretty sure that are old events.
Do you have the event ids you refer to or may i ask what do you base this statement on ?

I am aware that new court events regarding the new court size feature got introduced, but haven#t read of lover events being part of it.

Not exactly sure what you try to ask here.

Event 456 can fire with or without WoL.
Event 64010 only fires without WoL.

Hahaha, such skepticism. ;) But not to worry, I think anyone should be able to back up/source their claims, and so I will.

These happenings were introduced a couple of months ago with the "interesting court life mechanics." I'm not 100% sure which update that was, but I believe it was 3.1.1 which was released May 16 this year (2019).

The event ID is LT.61002 and can be found in events\LT_court_maintenance_events.txt, starting at line 217. It's an on_yearly_pulse event that fires for the player every year whenever there are at least two courtiers in his court that have no lover, rival, or friend. In which case they can be assigned a random relationship, weighted toward lovers. There are no checks for sexuality.

You can read the more exact requirements and modifiers in the event. :)

I assume you are not part of the official Paradox forums? This was a major topic of discussion over there, and was discussed at length and in detail by a multitude of people.

I'm a sceptic by heart.
Ruins the fun and life a bit, while fun and life have presented plenty of reasons to be sceptical, but i can't help myself.

Thanks.
Interesting. News to me. Looked at it now. That's indeed a terrible and terrible lazy event, though as i know Paradox devs likely on purpose.
I'm also really pissed off with all these rivalry adding events. One has to keep in mind that they very often immediately try to kill each other in game, not like in real life where rivalries 'just' end in attempts of making life harder for each other and all that jazz. *sigh*

Oh...
I also just realised that pruning only got "lowered for player courts".
In short, pruning is still around in full for the AI and still somehow for the player ( they said "lowered"), but using the game rule doesn't turn it off either, going by the comments in the respective dev diary, just brings back the old ways without the health malus for overcrowding.
So i still have to mod my game to get rid of it and have to hope that there are no events (hardcoded even) that do that without taking the (then modified) values in defines.lua into account.
Great.....realy great Paradox.
*double sigh*

Especially ironic all that, keeping in mind we got told repeatedly before, that player courts don't get pruned, which i always doubted by my experience. So if i was wrong, why these changes in the first place...oh Paradox, appears i was right. Whatever...

I am, but didn't see it. Might have been the days when i didn't pay that much attention.
Partaking in real life has its price. ;)

Currently on sick leave and thus more involved again...for another week. Then back to exhausting real life and annoying human beings.
