Ways to kill my current character?
So i've been doing a playthrough as Hungary and I have encountered a minor problem. After my current ruler died her son of course became King of Hungary, the problem is that his stats are poor and the vassals dislike him.

However, his daughter is his current heir and has FAR better stats. Is there a fast and efficient way to kill him off quick? Or am I being more foolish than him and should just try to work with what I have?

2 ways off the top of my head would be to have him lead an army and send him to his death/wounded, or somehow aquire the depression trait and commit suicide.

if you're depressed you can kill yourself. there's also a chance if you lead armies that you die. if you're out to sea too long you can get scurvy and die.

my late 20's to 40 year old characters that i like always seem to die having sex. but when i deliberately tried to kill a character through sex stress he has survived for more than 20 years and has 21 lovers currently. i started when he was in his 40's. sadly there was a major dlc that came out so i never went back to continue that game

Are you playing on Ironman? If not, just use the console to suicide. Or look up one of the event lines which can give you the depressed trait which will allow you to use an intrigue option to suicide.

Or, if you're playing with the Reaper's Due DLC, put your character as commander of a small army and station the army in diseased counties. Try to pick up 2 diseases at the same time. That's usually enough to kill you.

And of course you can try to catch a deathly illness. If there arent any diseases roaming about, maybe sleeping with sickly women might do the trick.
I assume you're playing with matrillineal marriages on. If so I first suggest turning that off next time, it's very unrealistic for the time period and honestly just really silly. It happened but extremely rarely but it seems lots of CK2 players just keep it on and have their characters pass titles through the female line...

Sorry. Ahem.

You could try the Rulership focus. It will give you a nice boost to your stewardship and thus more money while your current character lives. There's a chance to get the depressed trait (i get it far to often) and with that you have an option to commit suicide.
If you're a vassal of someone and/or there are a lot of battles going on, or perhaps some viking raiders you could go hunt them down with your ruler leading. Only call up 1 castles levies and have him lead. You're trying to lose the fight here and get him killed or in the process.
You could put your ruler on a boat with that small army and leave him out there sailing around. There's a chance he'll get scurvy and hopefully die due to it.
If you have any rivals, you can choose the War focus and challenge them to a duel and hope you lose. If it's not ironman you can load and try the duel till you die.

Always the option of cheating as well if it's not ironman. Use the console kill command to off him, or give him lots of sickness and he'll be gone.

In the end I'd say try to give him a go though. Remember that losing in CK2 can be part of the fun. Having it all fall apart makes for a great comeback story. Just watch out that your whole dynasty doesn't get wiped out in the process.

Edit: didn't expect the other responses so quickly haha

Sending people to diseased lands still worked before RD. It just wasn't quite as reliable as disease wasn't as common or deadly.
lol just take business focus usually kills my ruler in less than a month

i find it more fun to try and work around/fix a messy character.

poor stats and bad vassal relations are often due to vices or other negative traits. you can fix some of that stuff through events.

for example, if your dude is "arbitrary", he'll have a -5 penalty to vassal opinion and lowered learning and stewardship. he can become "just" (opposite trait) through some events, though. which replaces the -5 penalty with a +5 bonus and also gives a bonus to learning & stewardship.

Best way i can think of is be the biggest tyrant you can be by imprisoning and executing people, using the warchest intrigue option to piss people off by taking their money ((Forgot the name, sorry)), and just generally being a douce ruler.

build warchest, it's an ambition. problem with going the tyrant rout is they now have an "Opinion of predecessor" which can screw your next character

half the fun of the game is having to play as a bad ruler, and still succeding through focing them into submission, or doing other schemey ♥♥♥♥ like that, as a rule of thumb for all bad characters you play, just choose the intriuge focus and move on from there

Not so direct but making your spymaster to hate you would be useful. Also if he is possessed it may help. Make some non-important claimants hate you hoping a plot.

Ah, true. I was just trying to answer help him get the result he was looking for fast and leave the variables of the decision up to him since that factor is pretty much common knowledge as far as I know. Also, no need to get so technical about the name of the "Ambition" when i was refering to the option that comes after you set the war chest as an ambition. :P

Purposely catch diseases and either refuse treatment or have a sketchy physician and get the experimental treatment. Get rulership focus or have lovers/friends die and get the depressed trait. Lose lots of battles and hope you die. Make your spymaster hate your guts while being very skilled and wait to be assassinated. There are lots of ways but these are some of the more reliable ones imo.

i forgot about military focus and challenging people to duels. maybe one of them will kill you
