Wtf China?
So I'm playing a Russian game, and China decides to make Poland and Lithuania tributaries. This doesn't make any sense. How tf does China have the ability attack Poland, especially with the Russian Empire in the way? The most westward tributaries they had before were some nomads near Hungary, but they were lost by China before Poland and Lithuania became tributaries. Has anybody else experienced some odd Chinese shenanigans?

I haven't played outside of Tibet/India region with the new DLC, but there's a game rule that decides whether China can interact with any nation or only those in their diplomatic range, so I would guess you didn't limit them.

I did limit them though. I'm guessing some little tributary I must have not seen just expanded their diplo range into Eastern Europe. That's how I got into diplo range before eastward expansion.
Yes i had some Chinese Adventurer trying to get the holy roman empire that was WTF

China just does whatever its wants and its not that werid, the Crusades were the same, they went through multiple countries not owning any of them, such as Hungry, alot of HRE states, Sicily (even tho some came from there) and the ERE, yes its werid to see someone take Land where they dont have a connection, but it fits extremly well with the times, such with Austria taking lands that is well far away from their land, same with many many other nations.

Chinese guy "hey did you hear Poland and Lithuania are like full of alot of gold and other valuables"

Emperor " NO WAy i like gold and valuables"

Chinese Guy " we should go conquer them, cause legit who can stop us we are china"

Emperor " your right but if there isnt all this cool stuff you talked about ill be mad"

Nice answer except that Poland and Lithuania were poor as hell, and being gobbled up by me. You'd think China would be more interested in a quickly expanding empire like Russia than some backwater tribal land that isn't going to last much longer even with Chinese help (the brigades they get are pretty useless)

Thats the point of the Emperor saying "but if there isnt cool stuff you talked about ill be mad" because people would lie about the wealth of nations all the time, Britian was suppose to be full of gold and dimonds and gems, according to many Romans, but you know its not

If China is "expansionist", I believe they get a bonus to their diplo range, AND they become more aggressive in demanding tribute. If they're only "open", they limit tribute to the Tarim Basin and neighbours of the Western Protectorate. It's been awhile since I read the dev blog, but that's what I seem to remember.

Which is true later in the game for sure, expansionist China is hard to beat back.

After two games of China making it past the Red Sea, I turned off their their little invasion/tributary thing until it's fixed. Also had to turn off supernatural events becsaue there were dozens of bears running around the map. Sad you have to turn features off from a new DLC.

I haven't encountered bears but as an update, China turned France into a tributary. Extremely annoying but since the tributaries don't significantly affect me it's not enough for me to disable the feature I guess.

In mine they actually took Poland and Lithuania, not as tributary, but as an invasion. The second game they made it past Perm (actually held it not a trib) and were creeping into the Sinai and I said forget this and turned it of for the next playthrough. And this was in like the first 100 years of the game. I'm sure if I waited longer they would have made to France and beyond perhaps. The second game they were not even expansionist.
