Cometic DLC are not needed. If you do not plan on touching muslim/pagans/jews/india/china/republics, then don't buy those. This is not pokemon, you do not need to buy em all. Just play the base game that's been improved for 5 years with consecutives free patches and if you like it then slowy buy DLC to unlock stuff that interest you.
Sure I don’t have to buy it all, but I like to try lots of different things out. It is a shame the game is so heavily parted out.
$120 for the complete pack is a bargain.
It's not parted out. The game was complete from the get go. I think it's nice to see a great game strongly supported after nearly 6 years. Grand Strategy games are a much smaller market than most genres. People have no issues buying the next big multi-player fps every year (at full price), but somehow supporting a dev for supporting their game is wrong?
Wait until the package is 75%off. It's not that uncommon and usually has everything except the most recent expansion.
As Knifemind said, the game isn't parted out. Without any dlc's you'll have no problems with the game, I've personally only been playing the game with about half the DLCs(Primarily charlemagne and Old gods) for years without feeling like it was a limited or broken experience(even with all the free patches adding new content).
And in this sale I picked up the rest. While the differences are noticable(and in some ways, completely changes the way the game played, especially in term of laws, vassals and councils), they are by no means required to experience or enjoying the game.
I'd argue the DLC's in Ck2 are less important than the expansions for the The Sims series(Which haven't been given a collection since Sims 2).
I have owned the game for years and slowly spent money on it though. To try and get into it now is almost a nightmare cost wise.
I would not expect a "complete" pack or anything like it though untill they actually complete the game. I would be fine with them bundling up all but the last few DLC and selling them at a 60 or less price point, but I highly doubt that will happen soon.
Best advice is to drop about 30 - 40 and get the most important stuff, and learn to play game and pick up rest later on sale. Do not need all the dlc to enjoy the game.
You made your choice, now live with it. Complaining doesn't make you a hero. Y'all just cheap.
And I am not sorry.
If aoe2 had 20 expansions would you complain about the price?
That's what most people do when they don't want to spend money.
The game is relatively cheap that way.
I bought nearly all of the DLCs.
Just the last two I haven't. I didn't feel the need to. And of course, songs and unit packs. I bought all the portriats. I'll buy the latest two when they're really on sale.
The reason I don't pay full price anymore is due to the fact that I just don't play games anymore.
But, I love CKII.
Also they have sale now by paradox for CK2 with 5 DLC € 20
All these ripoff pricepoints do is encourage free downloading of the game....
Or GetAmped 2, where you need to spend about 2000$ to get cool weapons, since most of those are in Draw machines and work kinda as casino. 20$ is 2000C = 5 draws, which is 1 good weapon at best.
The thing is CK2 is old, its a game back from 2012. 120$/7 years = 17$ per year. For God's sake, WoW subscribtion only to get access to game you purchased for full price is 10$ per month.
What a crybaby bum you are.
