There is an option to move them to another position. IIRC right click on their portrait. I can't remember if a position needs to be vacant before that option will appear though.
That firing him has serious consequences for my relationship with him makes sense. But I did not know about this rule.
revoke title
award honorary title
send gift
imprison
arrange marriage
arrange betrothal
take concubine
request council support
plot to kill
mark descendants (from a mod)
grayed out:
grant landed title
appoint councillor
appoint commander
request invasion
request excommunication
grant independence
I've gotta be doing something wrong, but I have no idea what.
I've just tested every combination landed/unlanded/male/female characters in all of the 7 council positions available to me. In all cases both off the "Positions" & "My Council" screens the "Change Council Position" option appears below "Plot to kill"
I'd try turning the mod off to test, apart from anything else it could be breaking other stuff...
Really this is a major problem with the player editor DLC. It seems to make a mess of your council, so that as you start the game you get a bunch of messages about people no longer being on your council. I thought that that was simply because your creation of a new character replaced all members of the historical dynasty... but it seems to be more than that.
Anyway, as soon as I quit using the character editor, I regained the ability to switch council positions.
I play with that thing turned off simply because it disables Steam acheivements so wasn't aware of any other havoc it creates. Good to know for when this comes up again.
