CK2 Crashing/Resetting Computer
I've logged 100+ hours into CK2. Lately, when I tried to start the game, it will load up, and then crash to the desktop before it gets to the main menu. I tried to run it from the .exe file without being online with Steam, still happened. I then disabled mods, still happened. I uninstalled/re-installed, still happened. I then did a complete, clean re-install: uninstalled the game, deleted the Steam>SteamApps>common folder for the game, and deleted the Paradox Interactive folder. No mods are on my computer. I have all of the DLC, with the various Songs and Hymns DLC deactivated, and the Univeralis 4 converter DLC deactivated. I booted it up, it got to the main menu, and the screen went black, came up with Unsupported Mode, there was a loud buzzing noise in my headphones, and then my PC reset itself. Did this both through Steam and running it as the .exe file. I'm at a loss, I just want to play my game. :( Help plox!

I have had that problem in the past. I had to do a clean install to fix it but your problem sounds more serious; which means as I'm sure you are aware with P.C's it could be one of many things and not to teach you how to suck eggs but have you tried...........

A recent windows 10 update conflict?
A recent graphics card update conflict?
Sound card update conflict?
Run the exe. in admin mode
Run in compatibility mode
Run the game in window mode not full screen just to see if it will load.
Check your HD for bad sectors
etc etc etc

If your other games are working fine and you don't think its any of the obvious culprits then you should bump this to the developers technical help department.

Ok, so I ran as admin via the .exe and it works now? No idea why. :S

Yeah, thanks :) Now I just need to redownload the GoT mod and hope it works lol
