Immortal (Create a religion)
I believe there should be an option for the character to be immortal, to create the religion based on him or her to be worshiped or to create a secret society based on its immortality.

+100 current opinion from long reign, excuse me. But yeah, all that stuff already in game, except cult of your own. Welp, you can make your own cult, but it'll worship one of religions (religion you secretly converted in), not your person. With you as a leader, but whatever. Cults are boring.

Nothing personal against your idea, but please no. Half the game is still barebones and in desperate need of some basic attention. Cultures, for example, are almost pointless unless you happen to be North Germanic, Altaic, Greek, or Indian. IDK what the Franks or Anglo-Saxons celebrated back then, but if Paradox has time to add dark magic, then they have more then enough time to make up some holidays.
Like, a holiday every few weeks? :)
And i'm not agree about other cultures being useless. Special retunies and Castle bonuses.

If you think that way then why does the game add the option of Immortal?

What is the purpose of putting an immortal character? What is the impact on society that an immortal being would have as ruler of a kingdom?
I think you are misunderstanding my question. Although I've never had the opportunity to play as an immortal character (had the quests come up a few times but was never successful), it seems from what I've read that the trait has a big impact on gameplay with regard to succession andand realm stability. Since you basically control when (or if) your character dies, the chances of having an undesirable heir or having instability in the realm can be greatly reduced. I can imagine it would also come in handy in large empires with elective succession. But again, I've never had the opportunity to try it for myself so I'm just making an educated guess.

So, back to my question, what effect would an immortal character setting himself up as a god to be worshipped have on actual gameplay? What are the specifics you envision that would add to the game mechanics?

First of all I'm sorry if at any point I wrote something that has shown any degree of bad manners or indignation about your response.
Sorry!

About your question, I may have misunderstood you. I'll see if I can get your answer.

- The heirs of the throne will wish to kill your character due to immortality, since he does not die then they will never be heirs to the throne. If you see a great popularity of the immortal king your children will settle for some county.

- There will be a break of the style of the game, due to not having the succession exchange which is a general rule of the game;

- In the gameplay I believe it would not be so difficult since you can create a secret sect, developers will add a path for immortals;

- Creation of religion;
- Priests;
- Possibility of transferring immortality to your children;
- Heroes other religions appearing in each country to have a war of immortals;
- Quests for immortals with powerful entities;
- In addition to the Egyptian religion where pharaoh was a deity;
- Addition of Greek heroes and their Gods of the Greek religion;

At the time of the Roman empire I do not remember the emperor, but he came to create a cult of worship himself. When playing with the Byzantine Empire, you can bring the resurgence of Rome. And even receiving Roman titles, then the immortal trait could be used upon completion.

Note: There is a possibility that the player is a killer of Gods, where he faces a Divine creature. It happened to me.
It means that the game is opening up this possibility only that gradually, what I want is a new path to be bought with magic effects.

Thank you!

I feel as if people worshiped a ruler as a god, it would add multiple benifits:
1) Less people would conspire against you(or in the oppisite people who reject you as a god might try their utmost to stand in your way)
2) A "God" leading an army into battle would most definately increase the morale of the troops they're leading, and possibly demoralize the enemy army
3) A "God" character could demand tithes from bishop vassals if they worship him
4) A "God" character would be above the rules of mortals, meaning they would have absolute authority(f*ck the council, vassals, and courtiers, amirite?)
5) I feel as if a "God" character could declare free holy wars at any time(would be pretty OP, but would make sense tbh, also I relize #4 is OP also, if it were a function)

There's probably loads more benifits if you could become a "God" but I can't be bothered to mke more S*it up right now.

Yes, I loved your point of view.

I don't think the game can handle custom religions at its current state.
No need to make it a custom religion, just create another fixed religion like the others. Before you say it can't handle that, I'd like to remind you they're releasing another expansion soon with Tibet, its culture and its religion.

you're not even really immortal. Just immune to dying of disease or old age (and stop aging).

That might persaude some people...but they just have to capture and execute you (or if probably keep you around as a blood bank if they realized drinking your blood could make them immortal as well).

That MIGHT spawn a new religion, but you wouldn't be the head of it or anyhting being dead and all. And it would most likely just be a minor heresey of whatever religion you previously worshiped since the adherants would probably use that as a base and then add their own stuff on top. (similar to Christainity spawning out of Judaism)
