Silly question: can you pick a female character at start?
I've read that you can do it but only if you buy a dlc
Jessica don't think of CK2 as a multiplayer game! While it does have the ability to be played mutliplayer its not a "spur of the moment" lets sit down with some random people and play a game of CK2....
Because a game of CK2 takes 2 Weeks if your fast forwarding and more realistically 1-2 months...
You dont just jump into a random game with a bunch of strangers and expect to finish a game that takes a month to play!
So yes trying to find a random multiplayer game is very challenging! But when its done its usually coordinated here in the forum.....
As for playing a female charcter at the begining of a game. Its not going to happen all the starts of games are historical and whatever happens after the initial start date is up to the player and RNG for everything else..... And since at the time of the start dates there were NO female rulers in the world they are none to select.... This is not PDX being shovenistic this is just a historical fact. With that being said you can quickly change your inheritence laws and when your initial character dies his daughter or sister could ascend to the thrown in his place!
The start dates
769 with Charlemagne
867 with Old Gods
1066 with the base game
are all before most European Queen's which were most commonly scene after the 1500 with some appearing as early as 1200
Another option is to buy the ruler designer DLC and make a female character with it.
Be aware that the Ruler Designer is not Ironman Compatible therefore no achievements...
The Customization Pack is Ironman compatable but you cannot magically create a ruler with it but you can do alot of neat things like customize your dynasty shield, name your dynasty, rename any title in your realm... Give your characters hair cuts. Name every dynastic child born in your court....
So I strongly recommend the Customization pack as to me its the best NON major DLC that gives you the MOST bang for the buck, for immersion....
And I strongly advise to avoid the ruler designer as its not ironman compatible and therefore a waist of money!
Sure you can and no you don't need a DLC to play women as such.

Multiplayer is same as singleplayer.
Yes you can play as women but either you use ruler designer and customize your own chracter or you change the law of the country and you get daughter heir. And wait for the liege to die.And take control of the realm.
I have a question for you.
Your account name is jessica with flowers both sides. You were born in 2002.(15 years old). You are a grill.Your profile photo represents you as you are using your iphone in front of a mirror to take photo of you. Also you play call of duty and barbie stuff.
The question is
Do you really want to play this game.
If you do want to play a female character, you best bet is to convert to the Cathar heresy or play as a basque character. Both allow you to set succession laws that make it easier for female characters to inherit. There is also a game rule that makes it easier for anyone, but I think this disables achievements. Also, if you are playing a female character, make sure you have a matrilineal marriage. Nothing sucks more than getting a game over because your firstborn wasn't part of your dynasty. Technically, the same thing can happen with a male ruler, but it is really hard to end up with a male heir who got into a matrilineal marriage and now has children not of his dynasty.
They didnt pass lock the games.
Enjoy!
ED: [TL;DR] So basically it is always possible to play female characters, but you have to start as a male and then force succession to be female which gets quite technical but can be easily achieved if you know how to. The easier way is the DLC which allows you to create whomever you want off the bat.
