One map mode is missing: De facto Duchy
I would like to see a "duchy" or "county" map mode but there's not. There's a 'de jure' mode but I'd like to see the duchy 'de facto' instead.
In fact my kingdom is made of 3 Khanat: Khanat of Bulgaria, Khanat of Serbia and Khanat of Wallachia. And I would like to be able to visualise the situation on the map but I can't as my Khanats are not exactly the 'de jure' ones. Hence my question: where is the "de facto duchy" map mode ? Comments welcome.

Sounds like you want Direct Vassals mode actually. If that doesn't work out, try control-left clicking on your realm once for each vassal level down you want to go; i.e. Emperor + 1 click shows vassal de facto Kings, another click shows the de facto duchy breakdown, etc.

Very interesting, thanks. However, the colour code is different between the ctrl-left click mode and the 'direct vassals' mode and I can't understand exactly what is the difference... any idea ?

Not off hand. I haven't played in a week or so (waiting on 2.7.1 before I start a new game), but I've never noticed a color difference before. The only thing that was screwy was the 2.7.0 patch "broke" the direct vassals mode colors, but 2.7.0.1 (or 0.2) was supposed to have fixed that.

Maybe someone who uses it more can help out. Were the outlines of subrealms different?

Nope. the outline is the same. Just some provinces outside of my realm change color depending on ctrl+click and direct vassals (f)

Sofia has a different colour on screenshot #3 as compared to #2

That's because it's in the ERE, so in SS#1 & 2, it is the ERE purple and then in SS#3 you are showing the direct vassals for all realms. The Sofia county is in the ERE and looks to be directly under the Emperor.

Control-Click only shows the direct vassals in the realm you click on.
