Which types of sacrifices does Satan appreciate the most? (Answered)
You know, when I first started playing this game I thought I would be a decent ruler and person, and now i'm asking what kind of sacrifices appeases the dark lord the most so he will grant me unholy powers. Just a bit of nostalgia.

Title. I noticed that virgins are good, but haven't been giving up too many yet, as I don't wanna get noticed.

Also, what is a "safe" number of evil deeds to commit? I'm new to the whole "hail satan lord of the underworld" kinda thing.

EDIT: O deer the pope is part of this cult too. Hail satan.

EDIT: Following up for anyone who is curious in the future.

You get 100 dark power for sacrificing the following:

Virgins: (No children, never married, never been concubine, never seduced, no lovers) Funny enough this means CHILDREN can be considered "not virgins" if certain events fire. It also means be wary of sacrificing any arab women you've captured in a siege, as they might have been concubines.

Dwarves: (Must be adult with "Dwarf" trait. Male or female acceptable).

Holy Persons: (Bishops, Monks/Nuns, Holy Society members) Only works on muslims who's primary title/capital county holding is religious.

Rulers: (No Liege, owns at least one county).

Unless you have missions to sacrifice people you cannot get more than 100 dark power per sacrifice. If the sacrifice is a bishop ruler, you get 200 dark power. Anything else only gives 100 dark power per sacrifice.

Any other sacrifices only add 10 dark power. It is still a convenient way of quietly disposing of undesirables however.

Each sacrifice adds 5 visibility to your character. At 15 visibility people start becoming suspicious (adds modifier -0.10 prestige/month) and may trigger discovery or bad trait events. At 25 visibility you become "highly suspicious" (-0.20 prestige/month) and the chances of events firing increases greatly.

I currently do not know how visibility fades, but will update if I find out.

Look at that, now i'm an expert at satanic sacrifices.

I don't think it really matters. Just sacrifice away until you're suspicious and let yourself cool down a bit. I think sacrificing priests gives 100 dark power per priest, whether it's during a mission or not. Just start a priest farm, man.

Good ones seem to give 100, and poor ones only 10. You gain suspicion for each guy, so I would like to be more efficient in my regular satanic ritural killings, gaining 200 dark power each cycle instead of 20.
Virgins. Always look for virgins to sacrifice they give 200 dark power each and every blessed one of them you offer up to the dark lord. Virgins, gotta love em. :mortis:

If you are talking real Satanism, it is more like a Monkey's Paw wish. The Dean on your college may be on a high like a drug, but he needs to keep hitting it to keep his high. Man is God's Glory. Satan likes to make fun of man and make him a joke. He covets man.

Satanists work in the shadows and do disgusting things. Given you are enjoying the role play what spirit are you of? There were reasons for inquisitions, and such, that The Enlightenment doesn't care for you to know about. I would point out that many Occultist use Kabbalah, and Kabbalah came from Spain.

Unless you have missions to sacrifice people you cannot get more than 100 dark power per sacrifice. Even if they meet more than one criteria (e.g. sacrificing a virgin dwarf prince-bishopric ruler) you still only get 100 dark power.

If you have the paranoid trait, you can take a decision to lay low every time a fellow member is exposed. This reduces your visibility, and has no other effects as far I know

EDIT: Just noticed this was a necro thread.

Visibility lowers every year by calling event MNM.70030 in jobs_offmap.txt.

In my experience, it's not worth doing most of the devil worshipper missions because of the visibility increase. The only one worth doing is desecrating temples, which could net you over 600 dark power.

Recruiting people to join your society is a much safer way to get dark power. You can recruit every 3 months (countdown starts from when you click the "recruit" button, not when event fires). When someone gets successfully recruited, you get 400 dark power (event giving 200 dark power seems to fire twice). There is no visibility increase regardless of whether or not the recruitment was successful.

As long as I recruit 1 person per year, that is enough for me to abduct mercenary captains as fast as I can while keeping my visibility at around the same level. When recruiting people, stay away from zealous, celibate, humble, and chaste. Preferably go for hedonist, cynical, and lustful people.

Apparently the most favorite sacrifice is your attractiveness. I just had a Satanist woman emperor of Germania get ugly and hunchbacked. My vassals hated me. If that's not bad enough, I because a crazy cannibal and ate the prisoners not worth sacrificing. Sounds cool right? Well not really. She got cancer, then she got dysentery. Then she died. I was a little pissed because I wanted to do a whole reign of terror type character but no, She just had to die cancerous and expunging diarrhea.
