How to loose shy?
Its the opposite of gregarious so I suppose one could loose it through carousing? Any idea?

Party hard. Be a family man. Study warfare. The rest is luck.
I've been trying to figure this out for some time now myself and have not come up with anything in game or from the forums or wiki but vague ideas on the subject. Theology might give an event to lose it in religious seclusion I've heard. Carousing I have tried with one character but I was at war for so long it was basically pointless and poorly implemented testing since there was no way to host parties and I had to switch focus' too often to survive anyway but I am very interested if anyone comes up with a definitive answer on this matter.

Cool lets keep in touch about the shy issue :steamhappy:

Basically you want to be gregarious. if you have reapers due, then haivng a hospital with a soup kitchen in your demesne will trigger a regular event to donate gold/goods to them, this then leads to 3 or 4 possible options and I know for a fact one is gregarious while another is zealous, think just is also an option, but point is that is a way to get gregarious from shy.

Way of life Family focus leads to regular events to hang out with your family, and sometimes you lose shy from it (probably 25%) while generally you gain proud.

Way of life corouselling (sp?) has a chane to remove shy every time you plan a dinner party (target people who have gregarious themselves), this can lead to the guy basically curing you, alternatively target lustful women for a chance to lose shy...

Hold a feast, the standard intrigue option that is yearly, has a high chance to lead to gregarious, as well as Just (locking up drunkards/rowdy party goers), also a chance to gain lustful by humping some beer wench (tends to be more common with pagan religions).

Hold a festival, much like the feast there is a part in the event chain where you basically go shopping at stalls, generally you trade a temporary stewardship debuff and a minor general opinion hit, but have a chance to gain gregarious which counters the opinion loss.

That's some of the easier options, with little to no risk involved.

Riskier ones are basically keep leading troops, although you will be garbage alot you can lose shy with a succesful commander kill, much like losing craven to gain brave... but until you kill the guy you are a liability and bring your troops down with stuttering tactics.

Thanks Random I do have a soup kitchen in my main county and I have come accross all those events you mentioned will see how it goes.

Just a question re our previous chat re my current ruler's 3 sons that have the strong claims on the Byz Empire.

The older one died 2 sons left and the 3rd and youngest one who is a genius is currently my heir and leading the elections by far as I am on Elective still in the Empire of Francia.

My heir has very good traits but 15 comparing to 20 marshall stats of his father so when he takes over my levies should drop slightly which is currently on 35 000. My current ruler also just had some experimental treatment and is now severly injured at 53 so I fear he will peg soon.

I have just pressed my son/heir strong claim on the Byz empire as they are also growing in levies but it should be an easy take against their 16 000.

Let's not count our chicken's before they hatch but question is once I take the Byz empire shall I make that my primary title as appose to Francia?

Thanks

Random, great info thank you very much its appreciated and answers a long standing question of mine that I couldn't get an answer to elsewhere and I did my due diligence.

You can also lose shy/gain gregarious at the very beginning of the chess game with death event chain. Might not live long enough to enjoy it though.
Marcus Feb 25, 2017 @ 10:53am
Thanks Gregory never had the chess death event?

You might be able to pop it out by having 6 or more traits since the game is literally programmed to only allow you to have 5 or less.

Oh I've had the chess game with death twice now it is my favorite and incredible once you get it. I died both times by the way and took my 6 year old daughter with me the first time. Death does not ♥♥♥♥ around let me tell you. :mortis:

Snow Dragon has a good point too it could be simply just eliminated from your character traits if you go beyond the limit but that is more luck than anything else and if there is one thing I've learned about playing CKII it is that you can never count on luck to get you through. Not in this game.
Marcus Feb 25, 2017 @ 11:16am
How do you get it? I DESPERATELY need my current ruler to go to the afterlife LIKE NOW!

Just pressed his son and heir's strong claim (via his mother) on the Byz Empire! what an easy win captured the Byz Emperor @ 34 warscore but I now gotta rule as my son caus the greeks aren't happt @ all!

Chess game with death is a random event. First time my ruler noticed a woman hanging around inside his gardens alone and it gave me the option to go talk with her or leave her be. I went to speak with her and immediately became friends, invited her to stay awhile, found out she was a traveling monk or something of that nature, so on and so forth. She comes looking for him in the night and explains she is not a wandering monk but death itself and she has come for him. In a desperate attempt to live he bargains for his life by playing a game of chess. He cheats. She wins. He dies. Second time was even cooler but not going to spoil all the fun. :mortis:

Ok cool so on what focus were you when that event fired as I really need to get rid of my current ruler!
