Pagan Great Holy Wars not triggering...
Two campaigns in a row now (Romuva and Finnish) that Great Holy Wars have not triggered for my reformed faiths. Crusades/Jihads have triggered, but in both games it's going on 100 years after the fact and still no Great Holy War option for myself. Hell, in my Romuva campaign the Danes have reformed the Germanic faith and have called two Great Holy Wars already.

Nobody knows?

In theory they should trigger within 10 years once you've both reformed and had crusades/jihads start up. I'm guessing your moral authority is over 5% as well. If you're playing without mods and your game is ironman-safe, it's possible RNGesus just hates you since they *should* be working.

Yeah, in both cases MA was above 90%. I was Emperor tier in both and pretty powerful due to the capital levy bonus as well as a good standing army. Also, come to think of it in my Jewish campaign I reinstated the Kohen Gadol with a custom character in Nubia and I didn't get their Great Holy War event/option either. With the Germanic reformed I get it (a past campaign I played a while ago), since I'm also the religious head, but not with these other religious factions.

land your holy order. I find that as a zunist once I land the warriors of the sun it triggers almost instantly. they dont even need to be your vassal just give them something.

Both have land. Each one has their own Duchy.

Any other ideas? It's getting to the point that I want to console command the event, if I even can.

In my most recent game reforming the Germanic religion, it then took over 120 years for the pagan holy wars event. Not sure what the MTTH is on the event or the factors impacting it.

Should be 10 years. It's just not firing for me, in 2 games now. Not even counting the Jewish camp I did and never got their great holy war (which is suppoed to not even have a mtth).

Kohen Gadol should have the option as soon as it is instated. Dunno what the exact trigger is for pagan faiths but iirc once one gets the option all the reformed pagans do.

I double checked the wiki: Any pagan faith reformed and either the crusades or jihads unlocked, then 10 year MTTH like your saying. Either you are having bad luck thrice or something is buggy in your game files. Especially since the Kohen Gadol reinstatement is an immediate trigger for the Jewish holy wars event and it didn't fire for you.

Yeah, the Kohen Gadol and Moabadan-Moabad instantly unlock great holy wars.

Yeah, the Kohen Gadol and Moabadan-Moabad instantly unlock great holy wars.

So they can immediately start the first great holy war for Kamarupa ;)

On topic: I haven't had problems with the great holy war era triggering for reformed pagans with CKII 2.6.2 and 2.6.3.
It worked for Slavic as well as Germanic.

Anybody know what event folder these events are in?

religious_events.txt has what you're looking for I think.
