Except one is an online service that, by its very nature, requires connectivity, and the other is a game engine that is licensed to other companies under specific legal terms.

Don't know about your jurisdiction, but even in our "best money can buy" legal system in the US thou shalt not act against another corporate interest. Customers are fair game - as long as they aren't rich or connected enough, anyway, but best have some serious war coffers if you dare to inconvenience, even in legal terms, another company. One big enough, anyway.

Outside of EU, Epic can probably get away with freely feeding hardware/software fingerprints, through Tencent, to the comrades-in-honey, but if they put any unauthorized datamining element into Unreal Engine and license it to another company without them knowing it, that's another bowl of lawsuits altogether.

Not that they can't actually do that with something that's an online FPS shooter - so yes, to a point one should be careful of Unreal engine games with online connectivity, as well. Pretty much how you shouldn't let Unity games access to network (I mean, if you value you privacy in any way, which for most people is a "whaa?" notion, but I'm digressing). But at least Unity isn't (so far, anyway) in the hands of Tencent, even as large enough "minority" stake.

Remember the whole RedShell thing being stealth-patched into games? Pepperidge farm remembers, though most people don't even know what the hell I'm talking about here. Ironically, usually the ones arguing from position like yours.

Bet you use Facebook which is even more insipid and sells all data it gets to highest bidder. If you have n Quest Headset it even uses the cameras to spy on you.

In fact, I host-block most data-mining domains I'm aware of. It breaks a bunch of sites, but that's what I use sandboxed browser spoofing client information for, if I really need to access those sites.

Steam's client is the only piece of software that I can't reasonably harden, so thanks for making it the virtual monopoly that it is, I guess.

The HUD of a few things in the game is too much zoomed since this new released, which makes a part of it out of the screen.
1./ The ressources you get from the boxes.
2./ The help information on the right bottom of the screen.

Also I'm getting a black smudge in the top left quadrant of the screen whenever I loot ammo from corpses. It might be a background part of the level up icon or something.

Basically the UI is messed up since this update. Is someone going to take responsibility here?
