Hey dshadow - they're telling you to provide your system information - posting that the game freezes or crashes without that info is useless. If you want help, then tell us what your cpu is, your gpu, operating system, installed ram and if it's a desktop or laptop system. We're not mind readers and we can't help you if we don't know what you're trying to run the game on.

I figured out Windows kept causing this game to crash whenever that annoying Windows prompt comes up saying that your computer performance is slow it drags you out of the game without warning and was causing blue screens on my machine.

I had to add this regkey and it went away, this was for Windows 7 only. There is no setting to change this it has to be done with a reghack.

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM (create if not already existent)

Set a new DWORD UseMachineCheck with a value of 0."

Secondly this game is really crappy on memory and just how it handle the CPU and the video driver or directX in general. Once you Alt+Tab out of it, it runs frame by frame until you restart your computer.

Hopefully this mess of code gets patched.

update your drivers and removing tesselation or even lowering the graphic settings can help. should give it a try before lashing out. Google is a wonderful tool if used. look on the dev forums, im sure you're not the only one with this problem.

NVIDIA USERS= Updating drivers is always the best place to start. HOWEVER, I updated my Nvidia drivers just a day ago and all of the sudden Tomb Raider started crashing after 5-10mins without fail. I rolled back my drivers back to the 320.18 release and just finished playing for an hour or so and no problems at all.

Moral of the story. If you're an Nvidia user and you updated your drivers to the newest 320.49. Roll them back to 320.18 and see if that works.

I do have the new drivers and will test it out on the 3rd. Try removing the tesselation and lowering the graphic settings.

found this on another thread

turn the tesselatin off and tress fx.

while you guys are trying to figure out your problems, I've been playing Tomb Raider just fine with my ATI GPU.

try disabling UAC and make sure you have all the latest windows updates:
http://guide4games.com/fixes/tomb-raider-pc-crashes-stopped-working-crash-to-desktop-direct3d-error-nvidia-gtx-670-problems-and-errors

let me know if this helps. if it doesn't I'll help to search up for more potential fixes.
