What the ♥♥♥♥ is Tomb Raider Asia?

So I had a hard time choosing between Tomb Raider and Skyrim and then decided to buy Tomb Raider as a gift to trade for Skyrim in case I change my mind or something like that.

Anyway, after I bought Tomb Raider as a gift, I open my inventory to see the gift only to find out that it's Tomb Raider Asia. Now what's pissing me off is that, unlike Hitman Absolution, nowhere on the Steam store page says anything about the Asia part which I'm afraid that the game will be playable only in Asian countries.

Anyway, has anyone bought the game in Asian countries and managed to play it fine in other country? I'm about to travel to another country soon and I don't want to find myself being locked out of the game because of some stupid region thing.

This version is not region locked. The same as when you buy in North America you get a NA version, but you can play everywhere.
Hitman indeed have restriction, but Tomb Raider is fine.
Besides, as there is no warning about restriction in the store page, I am sure that if in the future Square-enix decide to to restrcition in this games too, Steam support will change your version, as you bought before anything happened.

Ok, thanks for the answer, I haven't redeemed it yet but it just seems weird that Square Enix decides to do this sort of thing which makes me paranoid a little bit.

As previous experience: steam support can help you to change the copy if you can prove that you don't live in the region.
Years ago a friend gifted me a DE (German) version of a game, it was indeed a gift, not a trade. I contacted support before activating because I didn't want a censored game in my account. After 2 days they replied and changed the copy to a ROW.
Of course they won't do that with RU versions... we all know why...

pd: I was searching and looks like they give you a guest pass of Lara Croft GOL if you purchase the game in asia. Only different thing so far (no idea if this happends with the other versions)
