I'm with OP, I want raptors and a T-rex!
Since now. I also said "grounded" and that word's pretty important.
Things can be realistic without being true to life. Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings I'd say are realistic but they both have magic too. They reflect real human existence and real human history in the way they present their fictional world and its characters.
The Witcher 2 is also like this, but to a lesser degree.
In this case Tomb Raider is far more realistic than any of those examples. The supernatural elements are merely a small addition to a fictional representation of the real world. It changes the paradigm significantly, but besides that one addition it's basically a 1:1 representation.
And, in a near 1:1 representation of the real world, you can't have dinosaurs. A single island that's avoided detection for generations due to massive storms preventing passage is reasonable because it's based on a real place.
Sticking dinosaurs in a tomb somewhere breaks that fragile balance.
Thus it's unrealistic, and unwanted by the devs.
Why? Because they're trying to re-tell Lara Croft as a more realistic and grounded character and tell new stories that are more grounded and realistic.
Maybe.
Nice nick btw
Yes, too all. I am pretty sure a dinosaur has been in every TR game TR: GOL I am not sure it was a dinosaur, more like a dragon
now STOP saying NONSENSE about your FANTASIZED experiences of original tomb raiders
there are only dinos in TR 1 TR3 and TR Anniversary (which is TR1)
that's 3/11
what do you have to answer to these FACTS ?
You're kidding right?
First of all, Dino's became extinct 65 MILLION years ago, not a few hundred, for a variety of really valid reasons not the least of which was their cold blooded, huge bodies couldn't survive the Ice Age brought on by the asteroid.
Second of all, Humans have only exists for about 20,000 years, and civilization didn't exist until a few thousand years later.
So there were no tombs to raid until literally millions of years after the last dinosaur died off.
Going back a few hundred years is not sufficient excuse for the return of the dinosaurs.
