If this is Tomb Raider - where are the dinosaurs?
That's what I want to know.

Do the words "realistic" and "grounded" have absolutely no meaning to you?

Since when was Tomb Raider realistic? I don't find this new game very realistic either.

I'm with OP, I want raptors and a T-rex!

It's the begining of lara croft... We just seen her grow from a young adventurer to a all out take-no-♥♥♥♥ adventurer who cares about what she does now even more. Their will be more installments of the game in the future, I'm sure of it. Sorry you didn't get your dinasours... but maybe its something the Tomb Raider team will come up with in the next game.

Since now. I also said "grounded" and that word's pretty important.

Things can be realistic without being true to life. Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings I'd say are realistic but they both have magic too. They reflect real human existence and real human history in the way they present their fictional world and its characters.

The Witcher 2 is also like this, but to a lesser degree.

In this case Tomb Raider is far more realistic than any of those examples. The supernatural elements are merely a small addition to a fictional representation of the real world. It changes the paradigm significantly, but besides that one addition it's basically a 1:1 representation.

And, in a near 1:1 representation of the real world, you can't have dinosaurs. A single island that's avoided detection for generations due to massive storms preventing passage is reasonable because it's based on a real place.

Sticking dinosaurs in a tomb somewhere breaks that fragile balance.

Thus it's unrealistic, and unwanted by the devs.

Why? Because they're trying to re-tell Lara Croft as a more realistic and grounded character and tell new stories that are more grounded and realistic.

Yes, too all. I am pretty sure a dinosaur has been in every TR game TR: GOL I am not sure it was a dinosaur, more like a dragon

Nothing will ever beat the way that T-Rex charges at you in TR1. No cutscene, no warning, just a sudden outburst of music, and a T-Rex face flying out the fog. Why even try to do it again?

She could fall into a portal too, which leads to a secret island few hundred years in the past full of dinasaurs, thats not as unrealistic as fighting against a crazy witch, whos dead and has control over the weather like storm from xmen, called himiku ...

You're kidding right?

First of all, Dino's became extinct 65 MILLION years ago, not a few hundred, for a variety of really valid reasons not the least of which was their cold blooded, huge bodies couldn't survive the Ice Age brought on by the asteroid.

Second of all, Humans have only exists for about 20,000 years, and civilization didn't exist until a few thousand years later.

So there were no tombs to raid until literally millions of years after the last dinosaur died off.

Going back a few hundred years is not sufficient excuse for the return of the dinosaurs.
Harley Mar 12, 2013 @ 5:04pm
yes meant few million, ppl got the point anyway

There are Dinos in TR 2. The gigantic pit at the end of the first level contained 2 T-Rexs and a gold secret.
