Black screen

Just downloaded tomb raider and on startup im meet with a black screen and have to go into task manager to end the programe. Iv tried changing the graphic setting and used older drivers for the gpu but nothing has worked. hopefully some one can help me lol

Windows 7 64bit

My game tends to stay on a black screen for at least a minute or two but work after that... It does crash and won't close through Taskmanager after a while though. But yeah, just wait it out, see if it works.

I had to update the driver for my graphics card, other folk had to disable antivirus stuff and FRAPS. There are older threads on black screens ifyou search back to the weekend asI spent most of Sunday on here trying to sort it.

never thought of that cheers. i was useing the latest nvida drivers

since i turned off the antivirus and fraps its working. think fraps is the issue. thank you very much

Hello!

I have encountered a blackscreen - the kind of blackscreen when monitor light turns orange and sound freezes, then you can hear computer turning on again, but there is no screen until you restart it manually. I’ve tried turning things off in options, running in windowed mode, updating & downgrading graphic drivers...
I have Windows 7 64-bit.

I am getting blackscreen at the exact moment as the video’s 9.56/9.57, just as she crouch.

Try the new Nvidia drivers. alson turn tessalation off see if that works

If you have fraps open the programe and click the X button and itl turn off

Not sure if this will help anyone else, but here's my problem and solution that worked. When i first started the game I got the black screen. I could hear sound and when moving the mouse I could hear the different options clicking, which tells me the game was running. All the above mentioned solutions didn't work for me. I was running triple screens at a resolution of 5780 x 1080 running two NVIDIA GTX 580 SLI. I decided to turn off triple screens and render my desktop in 1920 x 1080 and ran the game again. IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY. Running graphics on ultimate setting with no issues thus far.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bro that worked for me. im running on two monitors so i guess it would appear on the other monitor (which is off because its a broken laptop screen) but thank you. now i can actually play the game again.
