Opening door with pry bar
After leaving the base camp, in the forest, I get into the house, through the tunnels and into the room where I collect the pry bar. The HUD tells me to press "E" repeatedly to open the door. I do, and Lara heaves away like a good 'un, but the door does not open. What am I doing wrong?

lol, are you sure you're pressing long and fast enough? When you start the sequence, there appears a white outline of the pry bar on screen and it fills up the closer you are to opening the door or whatever. Are you saying this meter fills to the top and yet the door never opens? D:

To be honest I also didn't understand what was going to begin with. It's kind of easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

Good luck!

Yes, and the pry bar outline fills a small triangle at the bottom, and sticks there no matter what I do!

Weird! lol Don't know what could be going on there, sorry! xD

Maybe you have one of those keyboard with macros that you forgot to turn off? Or auto repeat rate on your keyboard is set really high and the game doesn't like it.

No, the macro recorder is off, I've lowered the repeat rate, and still nothing. The "E" key works for everything else I've come across so far, but if I can't progress this is a gamebreaker.

I think I want my money back, which is a shame, because up until now I've been enjoying it.

I suppose I could try a reinstall.

Finally found a way to fudge this. I connected an X-Box controller, and the "X" key mashed properly where the KB wouldn't.

I revert to KB & M for everything else, but mashing works better with the controller.

I have the same problem on steamOS/Ubuntu - Tomb Raider 2013

I can't open any box or doors. I use internal keyboard and external but didn't work.

I try used macro on "E" but still nothing.

Only thing that I can think of is something like 'Sticky Keys' - it's a tech that is implemented in Windows 10 for people with motor-control problems and you can set it to ignore multiple keypresses.

I looked in "guides" and followed the directions for "Boost for low end pc's" which has you alter settings in Regedit. Worked so much easier after that.

Changed the button mapping to numpad enter, it works easily, may be just the keyboard issue.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
