Another thing I felt was that the game seemed to be really dragged on. By the end (as you mentioned the bell room), I knew where the story was going, I knew what was going to happen ; in short the gae could have had a very neat ending. But it seemed to get dragged on, not by advancing the actual story, but by spamming me with uncountable enemies. It just seemed like a bit of a lazy effort to make a longer game.
was a little disapointed in the difficulty and the puzzles, its to easy but still it was nice to play a more relaxing game. And also the survival instincts made it way to easy to find the relics.
I was also a little disapointed with it not being so survival. Before i got the game i thought you would just have the bow through the game and not all these other weapons and would have to kill animals to eat, other wise you would get weaker, slower, more tired and eventually starve to death. I also thought that you would have to treat wounds yourself before you bled to death.
so to sum it up, the ups out weigh the downs for me, I felt they did a great job with the game especially Lara's charecter but it would of been a little better if it was harder and more survival.
The game could of been slowed down with maybe a longer time on the ship, using the ship itself as the first part of the trainer where you get to know the people. When they died, i didnt at any time think oh how sad, they where a cool character. Simply cause i really didnt know them at all.
QTE
Way to many qte that didnt let you recover. I dont mind the occasional qte, but this at times felt a lot like a telltale game like walking dead. Not sure if it was me, or the qte where off a bit in timing, but there was times i knew exactly what buttons and when to hit, yet i still died like 8 times. tap the f, hold the f, spam the f, when the circle was near center. none would work for 5-7 tries and suddenly one of them would work.
Tombs
just not enough of them. (this has been mentioned by many people). While many of the none tomb areas where puzzles in a way. Like how to get up there, where do i go. Unlike the other tombraiders this really didnt feel the same as the series older games.
Dumbed Down
As with almost any game these days it was too easy. What little puzzles there where mind as well of not been in there at all. The first 2 TombRaider games had a few areas where it took me HOURS to figure out what i had to do. (without looking stuff up on line, but why buy a game that suppose to make you think if your just going to cheat) The very first tomb had me thinking for about 15 minutes. i knew exactly what i had to do, it just took me time to get the running and jumping timed fast enough to make it across. When i seen the next one again i seen right away what i had to do, and cause i figured they would all follow the pull this do this and run over then jump. when the third one followed the same system i lost hope for any tomb being creative and hard. (hard as in figuring out, not just hard in having to run jump before this falls)
Skills
Just when i started hunting and such i thought oh awesome i have to hunt to cause i get hungry, or to heal myself! then i realized other then the opening quest and to buff xp i techincally never had to hunt again. Most of the other survial skills seemed keyed on making the game easier and easier, not adding something new my character could do in the game. Sort of like saving up xp to unlock cheat abilites. Most of the brawling ones equal qte on dodge and after getting the next higher one the previous one is just thrown to the side cause the new one replaces it. making the brawling skills a lot less then it looks.
DLC
A buck here and there to get new dress? add in multiplayer maps? why not have them unlock in the game when you complete things like most games. I really dont see why any one would get these as the game has very limited replay value in my opinion.
Multi-player
not sure about this i dont really enjoy running around shooting other players, they have tons of other pvp games out there. In honesty i have not played multiplayer so if it involves exploration, and working togather do something please tell me. From playing it single player i assume its just people running around the map shooting each other , which again isnt very tombraider to me.
Over all
Its a good game with a few issues and draw backs. I think it should of been a side cast of Tombraider maybe called something different, like Lara Croft and the island of the sun Queen or just Raiders.
The graphics where nice , the world felt great with beaches, mountains, forest, its just a shame it wasnt open worlded.
As a TombRaider game i would say its like a 5/10 as it really doesnt follow the franchise.
As a Stand Alone game 8/10 (it was a short game)
I am not sure if they started the game and decided half way to make it TombRaider or if the guys who made it where to young to play the old TombRaider and took the action platform instead of the exploration/puzzle.
dislike : unnessesery multiplayer (f**k consoles!)
