How hard to run on high/ultra?
I tested on "canurunit, com" and my passes the recommended specs but what settings does the game base off the recommended? On medium or high with no AA and no reflections/shadows?

I heard this was a tough game to run and even my friends $3,000 PC even has trouble running everything maxed out at a decent frame rate. As long as I get 30 FPS on high to ultra settings I'm good.

I havn't seen any differences or comparison videos for the PC on high/ultra vs the Definitive Edition for Xbox One or PS4 so I may wait until I see that

What are your specs? I have an i5 2500K OC'd to 4.2Ghz, an HD7950 OC'd to 1150/1575Mhz, and 16GB of 1600Mhz RAM.

With tweaking, I can run this game at 1080p with Textures on Ultra, FXAA On, SSAO on Normal, Tesselation On, Post Processing On, and Level of Detail on High and get a steady 60fps.

And I do mean steady.

Functionally, this looks like a cross between High and Ultra.

If you've got an HD 7950 or higher, or a GTX 670 or higher, you can this game with almost all the pretty features enabled.

The game's actually really well optimized, but between TressFX, SSAA, and LoD, this game can really bring even high end PCs to their knees.

You should be fine to run on High with Ultra textures and FXAA and 60fps, or Ultra with a few things, like SSAA and LoD, either disabled or set to High at 30fps.

Either way, it'll look amazing.

I run it on Med-HIgh on a GTX 560, with ~60fps so your 660 FTW should work great.

That's good to hear, I was debating whether or not to just get the definitive edition for my xbox one or PS4 but I wasn't sure either if that will have any particle or graphical enhancements that the PC doesn't even have on high/ultra settings

High Precision and Post Processing CAN be disabled, but Post Processing generates the God Rays and tweaks the lighting a bit so it might be worthwhile to have it enabled.

You should be able to enable SSAO and Tesselation as well. By far the biggest performance hogging settings are Level of Detail, SSAA, and TressFX. If you keep SSAA and TressFX off and set Level of Detail no higher than High, you should be golden.

Not that I'm aware of. It may, but frankly the current version looks so gorgeous any difference simply won't be worth the price of admission.

No, not where it's 30 dollars for the normal 360/ps3 version versus $60 for Definitive, I can get this now for 35 dollars on GMG but I hsould've gotten it when it was sale for lke 10 dollars during the winter sale.

Exactly. Hell, I bought the game on a pre-order and I payed $15 less than what they're asking for the DE, and I got Guardian of Light to boot.

Honestly, this is why I went to PC gaming, it's been just about a year now since I built this thing and I just love paying up to 80% off for new games, since the games are so cheap I don't even mind not being able to trade in or sell, I'll still play consoles to play with friends and exclusives but PC is for everything else.

I think on GMG I can't remember what game I bought but it came with 3 free games of your choosing of around 10 games to choose from, you can't get deals like that on console.

surprised how well optimized it is, 42fps average (33 min) in benchmark on ultra with FX6300 and R7 260X
