I would much rather watch an extensive cutscene (and that would be a problem on its own) than be constantly annoyed with QTEs. This game is really riddled with them, and other "tap keys to do X" sequences. Whenever you want to open something you gotta keep tapping that key.
And yes, i play with a controler, its still annoying. I really wish Developers would stop with crappy QTEs. Not only do i keep missing the cutscene, because i am to busy waiting for prompts, but also do i end up being annoyed by shaking my controler, dancing around it and sacrificing my firstborns heart to it, to be actually enjoying myself playing the damn game.
Does age really matter when it comes to video games? I'm playing till I die xD
Except you don't, according to the rest of your post.
That is a totally disgusting thing to say. You are being a bigot toward a person based on age just as much as people do the same thing based on skin color, weight, sex, religion, or other differences.
What exactly is the magic age when you feel you should start chastising a person to "start thinking about your next life" and abandon other activities? Do you have a specific age where people are supposed to start or stop all of the things they enjoy doing in life?
You might die tomorrow, yet you feel that you have the right to tell somebody at the young age of 61 that they need to slowly curl up and die before even coming close to retirement age.
I got a chuckle when I read OP's post where he talked about playing games in Windows 3.1, since I have fond memories of writing games way before there was ever even a dream of anything like Windows. My first programs were written against the 3kB of ram on the Commodore Vic-20, storing them to cassette tape, and waiting a couple of minutes after typing in 'LOAD "*",8,1' so it would retrieve the program from tape. Then it was the Commodore 64, then the Atari ST, and then finally my company bought me my first PC computer with a whopping 640kB of ram and MS-DOS version 2.0. Funny now to think that computer cost several times what a modern gaming rig does today, but somewhere in the world that thing is probably still cranking away even though the old green phosphor monitor has had "1-2-3>" burned into the upper left corner for the better part of 3 decades. Funny how the Lotus prompt burned in even though it was used for dBase and Word Perfect a lot more... But anyway...
I fully plan to continue writing and playing computer games for at least another 30 years, and keep mountain climbing, caving, and running as long as my body will allow me to do those activities I enjoy so much. I don't have the twitch reflexes or unaided vision that I used to have, but hopefully by keeping the blood flowing, playing challenging computer and board games, and not giving up on life it will be a long time before I feel that I have to slow down.
It sounds like OP has a hard time with QTEs. I don't like them myself but do keep trying until I get past them. I feel good about completing challenging parts of video games, but it is nowhere near the exhilaration of doing a difficult class 4 climb without rope. Games are fun and help a little in keeping the mind sharp. Physical activity and always challenging yourself helps keep you young no matter what your age is.
Here are some pictures from a climb/hike I did a few months ago. No class 5 in the climb, but plenty of class 4. Unfortunately I got a comminuted fracture on the climb up (before taking the below pictures) but I wasn't going to let that stop me. My goal in the trip was to get to and explore a cave called "Lake Cave".
I got pretty frustrated that at the end of it all I made it to 100 vertical feet above the cave but couldn't do that last tiny bit as it was class 5 and I couldn't manage that with the hand fracture. It took a few months to rehabilitate but I'll travel there again within the next year and there's no way the goal won't be met this time.
Ok, that post got longer than I intended, but fanboy ticked me off. I guess in closing I'll just say never let anybody tell you that you are too old for anything you enjoy doing. Let them wallow in their bigotry while you enjoy life however you want.
I won't be buying this game. The Dumbed Down Consoleskification of games is a HUGE problem these days.
