I just started my first Tomb Raider game ever
So I've never played any TB Games. I've been about one hour into this one now, loving it!, but I am wondering if this is a good starting point for the series ? They all have so similiar titles that I cant tell which of the newer ones might be better/the best to start with.
Also, how long is this game going to be ? I plan to play a couple of them over X-mas vacation, if they're not that long.
Thanks :)

It's a good starting point. This game is the first in the Survivor Trilogy, followed by Rise of the TR and Shadow of the TR.

You can check game completion time on https://howlongtobeat.com/?q=tomb%2520raider
Its estimations are generally quite good. According to it this game takes around 11 hours to beat and 21 to complete everything.

Thank you, that cleared everthing up!
Have you by chance played all 3 of them yourself ? Can you recommed the Series ?
I will probably finish this first one this weekend :)

Rise is so much better...

Almost everything is better about it... Control, graphics, story, variety, gameplay, setpieces. Etc etc.

Honestly I'd advise people skip 2013 and start with Rise.

But if you are almost done with 2013 and enjoying it, then you should be happy that the next one is even better... ;)

I also never played the classic games nor the Legend reboot, but got into the survivor trilogy a few years ago. Depending on how much time you spend each day and how committed you are in finding everything, I reckon it will only take a few days to finish, no more than a week.

I think it's worth playing all three in the current series and if you're planning to do that it makes sense to start here. I agree that Rise of the Tomb Raider is a high point of the trilogy but I think it would only make sense to skip this one if you're short on time.
