Geothermal Caverns -Fire Arrows?

I'm try to get the second weight down to rescue Laura's friends, but I do not have fire arrows? I've rebooted the game multiple times. They haven't been there for a lot of the geothermal caverns. When I hit tab and go to my weapons, it says I have fire arrows, but they do not automatically light. Is this a glitch in the game? I need to blow up the poisonous gas, but I can't without the fire arrows. I am stuck. Please help.

Janna, just remember to select"1" to engage fire arrows and yes, you will need them to ignite gas

You can rebind the key to select fire arrows in the options.
