Stuck in Hall of the ascension - Lara too slow.

Hello Everyone,

I hope someone can help me, because i have the following problem. Lara can not crank the platform up fast enough. I have done it trying to figure out myself and i have done it using walktroughs, does not matter. I have pushed the letter e, which i need to use, slowly and regulary, like a freaking idiot and everything in between. But by the time she let's go the crank, the windows are open and the platform is all the way up.

I am on a windows 7m 64 bit laptop and i am stuck in this tomb. Since i played the game out for the second time, i would love to get it on a 100% for a change. I have been trying it many time's the first time i played the game, and so do i this now. I have been watching video's, walktroughs and been reading many tips, but i can't find a way to solve this. It is pretty frustrating and i hope some of you could help me.

crank the valve to close the shutters first than run over to the platform valve and wait till the first shutter opens than start cranking your wheel to lift platform, once platform is level run up on and wait a sec and run on to the platform by than the second shutter opens and pushes you way up , you have to double tap space bar once you hit the wall to make that double jump. i had troubles with it too.. hope this helps a bit.. best way is to just watch videos adn get teh right timing down

Thanks, but i have seen many video's and read many walktroughs of this part. The timing is not the problem really. The problem is that Lara does not crank the platform up fast enough. Does not matther wheter or not i start cranking immediatly after i closed the shutter, or wait till the first shutter is open. By the time she is finished cranking the platform up, all shutters are open and blowing the platform away.

Yep know what you mean, kept happening to me, i finally had enough and moved on as clearly was not gonna happen.

She is doing that too slow? When I was at that point she cranked the wheel for the plattform too fast so that I had to wait a moment after closing the shutters. Aren't you smashing the button ^^?

Well, i would like to know what is going wrong, so i could, perhaps, have a chance to change it and complete the game.

Tried it again a couple of time's, but there is no way i can get on the platform once i am done cranking. Every single time all the shutters are open before Lara is done cranking the platform up. The shutters don't even open as described. The first bottem shutter opens and after a second or 2 the middle and the top shutter opens together.

2 things. 1 - you probably need better graphics adapter. I know I had trouble with this scene and the wolf boss until I got a decent graphics adapter. If you didn't have trouble with the wolf, then this isn't your issue.

Thing 2 - Mashing the E...I found out that you don't keep hitting it just as fast as you can, but about 3 or 4 times a second.maybe a little slower, maybe a little faster. You will notice that the success bar fills up faster. (yeh...I didn't believe it either)

Thing 3 (did I say 2 things??? lol), I'm sure you know you hafta RUN from the shutters crank to the platform crank. After cranking the platform, I usually have about 5 secs to climb up on the platform.

It is do-able, maybe you are raising the platform too high? Try leaving the crank a bit sooner, you need to be on the swinging platform by the time the top shutter opens to have any chance

Done it all, tryd it all. I did not only smashed the letter e, but tried timing it several time's. To no result. I have seen many walktrough films but with no new information. In those films, Lara cranks a lot faster then she does on my pc. So in the end i do thing this could be a graphics card issue. A shame really, since i was able to finish the game till 98% smoothly...

Try lowering the resolution of the game.That helped me in another game where the QTE was too slow.

Lower the graphics and turn off special Fx items, then try that part again.
