Tomb Raider Fatal error
I have never played Tomb Raider through steam before, and got an error message somewhere through the game reading:

"Invalid script type version; try rebuilding resources"

It wont let me reload any other saves. Help?

try verifying your game files (go to the library, right click on the game name in the listing and select properties - then verify game files...) You might have a corrupted file...

I tried this about an hour after posting, that also didn't work. I redownloaded the game, but my save was still corrupted, so I had to start a new one. I guess it's better than nothing.

If you are having issues with Tomb Raider there are several things you can try (however it helps if you also provide some information regarding your system configuration - cpu, gpu, installed ram, operating system, desktop or laptop, etc...) We have no idea what you're trying to run the game on or even if your system is capable of running the game (you'd be surprised at how often people try to run this game on really old hardware...)

Try the following:

Validate your game files.
Update your graphics drivers and make sure you've installed all updates & patches to the OS.
Re-install DirectX from the redist sub-directory in your Tomb Raider folder.
Try running the game at lower settings (normal or high) before trying ultra or ultimate.
Turn off exclusive fullscreen, vsync or tressFX and see if the game perfoms better.
Don't run any utilities like FRAPS.
On older hardware try running the game using DirectX 9 instead of DirectX 11 (check around the forum for the method to do this...)
If you have an Nvidia gpu, try the GeForce Experience to configure the game.

Are you running any keyboard mapping or joystick/gamepad software that might interfere with the game? The game has been out for almost a year and many of the issues have been resolved - the community is pretty good about providing support, but you have to be willing to work with us (or buy a console version...) ;P

I would have provided more information if the problem persisted, but as I said I restarted my game and fixed the problem. If it persisted I would have elaborated.
