I know the current pc version is overwhelmingly but I love the skins and tressfx 2.0 It look more realistic to me. and the whole game look polish. I would like to play it.

I hope they will bring it to pc as well as the High Definition of Sleeping Dog.

The game looks good on pc but the definite edition has better textures for lara and the clothes have much higher polycount.

It would be nice to get it but i doubt square enix would do it, not enough money from doing that.

I suspect they might do this... (But perhaps in a year's time from now)

The definitive edition features a large number of improvements over the original build of this game.

Improved graphics,
1) such as the use of the higher poly cinematic model of Lara, in place of the lower poly original ingame model.

2) Improved textures throughout the game.

3) a much improved lighting system and weather system for the game

4) Increased number a plants and vegetation

5) Increased Draw Distance

6) Improved Physics Systems and collision detection

7) New Controller interactions (use of motion detection, trackpad and built-in speaker on the ps4 controller).

All would be a welcomed update to the orginal pc build...

Hey folks - Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics are NOT looking to do anything else with the old game - it's from 2013 and they're looking forward, not backwards. They're looking at the Rise of the Tomb Raider (which is supposed to be ported to the PC and PS4 next year after the Xbox One/360 versions come out this year...)

They've already come out with the GOTY version for the PC as well as the definite versions for the Xbox One/PS4 - do you really think that they're going to go back and work on the OLDER game? Even if they can do it, why bother when most of us already have a PC version (or PS3 or Xbox 360 version) that we've invested our money in. Who's going to put another $60 into a older game when they can just as easily work on the next (or future) versions of a NEW game?

Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition is not an old game... it came out in 2014 and they could easily release it as an update to the existing game, which is what The Definitive Edition is, an update to the original release version.

Some examples of this happening:
Capcom just recently released console exclusive DLC for a game that was a few years old (Resident Evil 5) for the pc (They made it a $15 addon for the existing pc game), Resident Evil 4 got a updated version, Metro One and Two both got polished updates after they came out, same is true of The Witcher 1 and 2, they both got reworked, Sleeping Dogs itself got a Definitive Edition (also with updated visuals; who's publisher like Tomb Raider is also Square Enix), Knights of the Old Republic 2 just recently had a major update (which was free in its case),and list goes on and on… the question will be if the company will want to put up the resources to make this a reality...

… and yes, it is also just as likely that they leave the game as is and just continue with the sequel; officially RotTR will be coming out early 2016 for PC and Holiday (late) 2016 for the PS4.

I don't like the way Lara's face looks in the definitive edition.

rr3 - keep hope alive.

But I'm betting you're wrong - I believe that Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics won't put any more money into another version of Tomb Raider 2013 - so let's see what happens next year when they come out with ROTR...

All i wanted from Crystal Dynamics was to release an prequel DLC to the upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider and see how she continuous when she returns to London and back to her normal life as she starts investigating her father´s past with some puzzles

Why waste the money on it? PC version is as close to the "Definitive Edition" as it gets. There's minor visual differences, some are better, some are worse (the new Lara model).

The PC playerbase are more demanding than the console counterpart and unless the "Definitive" features were added as a FREE update, I highly doubt that the majority of owners of the current PC edition would feel like shelling out for a few visual features, especially considering the nature of PC (where we should've originally had these visual features to begin with!). Consoles only recieved this updated version because of lack of platform backwards compatibility and the fact the graphics gap was much wider (so they could use the graphics upgrade as a selling point - something that wouldn't work with PC gamers considering the above!).

I'm sure Square Enix and the consumer see this and that's why they aren't focusing on a PC version of it. It isn't worth the money from a consumer and business perspective. We really don't need it. It doesn't change much to warrant it either.

Bump again, SE please listen to our demand. We need to collect the definition on PC :D !

I don't really care about everyone's opinions on TRDE, whether her face is better or not...don't care.

I just want TRDE to be released on PC, just like OP hoped. Why? Because why not.

It would be nice to play Definitive Edition on PC. maybe it might play more optimized with DX12.

Tressfx 2.0 does look awsome !

I hope it will come now that Rise is already here, I'd love to play as the new Lara, maybe I'll like it. There are many other upgrades in DE not featured on PC such as wind affecting the vegetation, Lara's gear is moving etc. They can release it similarily to Sleeping Dogs Definitive. Someone should make a thread and show SE or CD that we want it, because any big update is welcome, honestly, it drives people back to play the game and TR2013 is incredibly popular on Steam/PC. I support this idea 100%!!
