pointless with an Intel HD Graphics "GPU"
To change the game settings to use DirectX 9 do the following:
Launch the Registry Editor (open the Start screen/Start menu, type regedit and press Enter)
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Dynamics\Tomb Raider\Graphics
Double click on the name RenderAPI.
Change the RenderAPI value from 0 to 9.
Click OK and then close the editor.
Unfortunately most of the games that are really pushing the graphics depend on dedicated graphics cards like Nvidia or AMD instead of the ones from Intel.
Best of luck - and don't let the people telling you that you need to buy another laptop system - I have the same problem on my 17" Dell laptop and the game is painfully slow on that computer, but runs fine on my 5 year old ASUS laptop with an AMD Radeon 6370M gpu. If you want a gaming computer I guess you'll have to invest in one with more than a dedicated Intel HD gpu...
by replacing it with a real GPU.
/thread.
use that
