sweetFx might be what you need.

anyway, what's the resolution you're running? 640x480 should do the trick even for integrated GPUs. of course you must to set "hair" to "normal"

step 1) set oven to 400 degrees
step 2) put your potato in the oven
step 3) wait
step 4) enjoy

I thought sweetFx was used exclusively to make things look prettier

You can force the game to render in DirectX 9 instead of 11...

Launch the Registry Editor (open the Start screen/Start menu, type regedit and press enter)

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Dynamics\Tomb Raider\Graphics

Look for RenderAPI and right click, modify and change the value to 9.

Ihave already forced it to render in DirectX 9.I have done a lot of research into getting this game to run, which is why I want a low quality texture mod. I know it can be done since there are high quality graphics mods out there

When you say your computer is a potato - how bad are the graphics in your system? Are we talking about a laptop or something with intel HD graphics. Need more information...

It has a Reason HD 6310 graphics card. With 3 gigs of ram

Reading what card you had mad me appreciate my card so much more. I was thinking of upgrading, but I think everything in my life will be okay.

Why bother playing video games in such a system, at all, is the real question. That thing plays at like 800x600 (not even?) at 10 and 15 fps for the most part (according to netbookcheck.net), its 50% less powerful than even Intel HD 4600 which is already bottom of the barrel on its own, thats some migraine inducing stuff you got goin on.

Bla bla "not everyones rich" but thats just terrible, a 199$ recent machine would do you 10 times that performance. On a more helpful note, and if you haven't yet, lowering windows desktop resolution (and windows appearance) frees up resources, earning you more fps ingame.

If it was 15 fps I would not complain, & I only get roughly $10 a month after bills & food expenses. Of course I can afford a new computer.

Your decision really, don't call it on the money. I've been there, playin on potatoes (a single core pentium laptop from 2002), and its no use, no enjoyment to be had.

You can get a cheap machine if you want one. Sell yours and save a couple of those tenners. An AMD A8 7600 APU which is like 80$ (and 35 40 used?) plays any modern game at half decent framerates instead of having you scrape for low texture mods that sadly wont fix the problem anyway. Tomb Raider:

Have a good one.

If and when you can invest in a good rig it's so worth it. Playing this game on full ultra settings at 60FPS/1080p looks so gorgeous. I really want a 4k monitor to play in 4k! Best of luck though man.

I support this topic. I also want a Very Low mod, preferably with an underestimation of the number of polygons of the main characters and weapons, as well as other gags that are present in Very Low mod
