Have you tried to run the game directly from its file location, rather than from inside Steam?
If you're on Windows 64-bit, it's located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tomb Raider\TombRaider.exe
That may help with troubleshooting.
Also, have you tried rebooting your computer and trying again?
Hey, my operating system is windows 11 64 bits.
Yes, I did that already and it didn´t worked, also rebooting many times. I already tried to do the compatibility thing and sadly with no success... :(
Documents\Tomb Raider
????
nothing in windows event viewer or windows reliability history?
might be a game crash event or system related errors
I have windows 11. game still works
1- Does the mini launcher window for the game pop up at least, when you try to start the game from Steam? If yes, try to adjust the graphics down to "normal" quality and see if the game starts.
2- Have you tried updating to the latest graphics drivers? Be sure to reboot the PC afterwards. Your drivers are here:
https://www.powercolor.com/download?type=1492658578&id=1628667486
3- If you installed the latest driver and rebooted, and that fails, try using DirectX 9 instead of 11. Instructions here:
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Tomb_Raider_(2013)#Force_DirectX_9_renderer_on_DirectX_11_systems
4- If those 3 things fail, maybe reach out to their tech support (they will likely ask you to do #2 and 3, so might as well do those first):
https://support.crystald.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
1- No the launcher doesn´t even open.
2- I did, I did the reset on the pc and updated the drivers last week. Every game launches, the only one that is not opening is Tomb Raider, so the issue is coming from this game. Even the other tomb Raider is launching.
But it happened something today that I can´t understand what it was. The games that are heavier, like Baldur's Gate 3, and even Rise of The Tomb Raider, are a little slow, I don't know how to explain it very well. But it seems that the games are not fluid. In desperation to fix Tomb Raider, I tried several things on the computer. And now these heavier games are slow :´( I´m so sad.
Why is having a gaming computer such a headache? I waste the time I could be playing trying to fix problems with the computer, and my computer is new. I've only had it for 7 months... Unfortunately, the feeling of playing on the computer is much better for me.
3- I have DirectX 11, if I go back to 9 will it affect my other games on the computer, like Baldur's Gate 3 for example? Because Tomb Raider isn't the only game I play.

Oh I didn´t knew about the "tomb raider.log" file folder. I just checked, and tried to open it again and the information goes to the "tomb raider.log". It says:

What that means? :o

I also tried to check the "Windows Reliability History" and is definitely an error with opening Tomb Raider happening.
Here is the description of the problem on "Windows Reliability History":
(I did a google translation to english, but it´s understandable.)

I checked the "Windows Event Viewer" and found another error information that happened earlier this day. The most recent information that appears now is the one as the above.
(I did another google translation to english.)
"Activation context generation failed for "E:\video_games\launchers\Steam\steamapps\common\Tomb Raider\TombRaider.exe". Error in policy file or manifest on line.

Thanks!! It looks like I finally found the causes. But I can't understand anything that is reported and how I should proceed.

may be related = lots of posts in the fallout new vegas forum about that game not working with the latest amd drivers. perhaps search that forum for "amd" and check the recent posts. they had to delete some kind of amd software to get the game running
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Steam\Apps\203160
and the uninstall instructions at
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Steam App 203160
and another, as mentioned above, at
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Dynamics\Tomb Raider\Graphics
this last one has over 40 graphics settings - manually adding the folder wont help
if these registry entries are missing, the game is not installed.
I did found what I think its a text file on "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Steam\Apps\203160" saying: "Name: Name > Type: REG_SZ > Data: Tomb Raider". Also files named: "firewall, Installed, Running, Updating".
Now how should I processed, which file should I modify?
and where are the rest of them?
General disclaimer (not just about this game): Be careful what changes you make in Registry Editor, as it can really mess up Windows if you remove or modify something important.
